King James Records 2nd Ever Allstar Triple Double. Just Like MJ! West Wins. Kobe Gets MVP Honors. »
LeBron James became the second player to tally a triple-double in an All-Star game, following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan! He finished with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Kobe Bryant led the West to a win and brought showtime back to the All-Star Game, scoring 37 points and tying a record with his fourth MVP award. We haven’t had a Kobe vs. LeBron battle in June yet, but we got a preview of what it might look like here in February. The wild 148-143 score in the 2011 All-Star Game at Staples Center – the highest scoring regulation game in history – provided a taste of how exciting such a showdown might be as each dominated long stretches of the game.
