The Nike Basketball Elite Collection 2.0 officially makes its debut this Saturday, 4/20, with the Nike Plus enabled Gold Pack trio for LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. One week later is the official launch for the Superhero pack, which comes without Nike+ capabilities, but enhanced with other powers in the form of the Nike LeBron X PS Elite, the Nike KD V PS Elite, and the Nike Kobe 8 PS Elite. In the video below, Nike design director Leo Chang breaks down the entire Nike Basketball Elite Collection which includes breaking down each piece of the collection from an aesthetic and technological standpoint as well explaining the entire story behind the Superhero concept. Nike honors these stars and their super powered status by championing Kevin Durant’s lightning speed, Kobe Bryant’s unparalleled snake-like vision and awareness, and LeBron James’ diamond-hard toughness. Nike is very good at keeping things under wraps. Although we did a couple of looks at the LeBron X P.S. Elite, it’s now time for the Swoosh to officially announce the new Elite series. Modern-day athletic superheroes LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant showcase an uncanny skill-set, which is now complemented by footwear boasting Kevlar aramid, Carbon Fiber and articulated foam. For the sixth time in as many games, LeBron James scored at least 30 points and shot better than 60 percent from the field as the Miami Heat beat the Portland Trail Blazers for their 1,000th win in franchise history. Last night, James scored 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting to get into the NBA record books. Moreover, James has shot better than 70 percent from the field in three of his last six games. What if King James was a spectator and not a participant to his two weeks of historic play? “I’d be tweeting like crazy,” James said. “I’m at a loss for words.” Check out photos from the recent Heat matchups as LBJ’s historic run continues.

Nike recognizes the importance of the Black History Month month with not only a product collection, but a larger recognition of the power of sports to impact society. The 2013 Nike Black History Month Collection mantra “Be Bold. Be True.” celebrates three athletes who are fearless in action and fueled by a purpose. Consisting of seven shoes, two T-shirts, a Destroyer jacket, Nike Elite socks and a 5-panel hat, the 2013 Nike BHM Collection will debut beginning January 26th. A consistent design aesthetic weaves through each product in the collection, with a color palette including black, grey and brown highlighted in orange. LeBron James continues to debut PE after PE of his ninth signature model, the Nike LeBron 9. After hooking up James Jones with the Home edition during the All-star Weekend, James debuted the Nike LeBron 9 Fairfax Away PE. The shoe surfaced the blogosphere last month. To coincide with Fairfax’s colors, this LeBron 9 features a predominately red base with black and maize hints throughout the upper. In addition, Nike incorporated a black and maize speckled midsole. Is this the best LeBron 9 PE to hit the court?

Last night, LeBron James had flu like symptoms, but he managed to fill the box score with 31 points, eight boards, eight assists, four steals and three blocks as his Heat were in charge the whole way in a 98-87 win over Kobe Bryant’s Lakers. Just like it was predicted a couple of days ago, LBJ has finally broke out the Triple Black version of the Nike LeBron 9. As usual, he wore them with different laces.
