Nike LeBron 9 All-Star aka “Galaxy” Unreleased Sample »

This year’s NBA All-Star Game was a great success in many ways, but mainly due to Nike’s “Galaxy” themed sneakers. Nike released special make ups for their marquee athletes, but also a couple of other models that were very well received. Obviously it took a lot of sampling in order to reach the final result and here is of the examples. Originally, the All-Star LeBron 9 featured an Orange upper with 3M reflective panels and Glow-in-the-dark outsole. The sample version features subtle changes from the production model like darker shades on the stability wing, a solid outsole rather than the GITD and a special LeBron James badge on the top of the tongue instead of his signature. Did Nike make the right call by keeping them under wraps? Thanks to @IX_Eleven for sharing.

The Showcase: Nike LeBron 9 “Galaxy / All-Star / Big Bang” »

This shoe goes by many names, but it’s unmistakable in every other way. Some say we should select the best colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 based on how much it shines and sparkles. That way… the All-Star edition would probably outshine Chinas, Hornets, and Cannons to take the #1 spot. You really need to see it in person to appreciate the amount of work put by Jason Petrie and his team into this design. The Galaxy theme alone makes them special. The LeBron 9 “All-Star” was inspired by the space suits of Ohio astronauts. A NASA-style lion mission patch adorns the tongue, while a galaxy print lines the interior. Additionally, the shoe features 3M reflective panels, glow-in-the-dark outsole and insanely bright Orange upper for a complete one-of-a-kind look. LeBron James Shines in 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orange Kicks »

The Eastern Conference All-Stars trailed the whole game during the 61st NBA All-Star Game, however, it got incredibly close in the end. Led by LeBron James the Eastern All-stars were able to overcome a 20-point deficit, but came short as the West won 152-149. James had been brilliant with 36 points and six 3-pointers. He’d brought the Eastern Conference back with a ferocious fourth quarter, and, well, everyone was still waiting on him to complete the comeback and blister Bryant, but James turned the ball over with a chance to tie in the final seconds. LeBron wore several colorways of the Nike LeBron 9 during the All-Star weekend, but the most special of all were his Orange glow in the dark shoes, of course. Continue reading for the gallery.

Tonight marks the official premiere of the Nike LeBron 9 All-Star Exclusive. Depending on your location the exact time of the release might be different – around 12am GMT in Europe and 12am EST in the U.S. In both cases follow @nikestore or @nikestoreeurope for exact information once available. Nike LeBron 9 “All-Star” Exclusive Arriving at Retailers »

Let the madness begin! This weekend marks several premieres of Nike’s pinnacle basketball footwear including the Galaxy pack prepared for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game. The pack includes the Nike LeBron 9 “Big Bang”. Earlier this week Nike has accidentally released them at nikestore.com, but ended up apologizing for the mix up. Many fans were able to place orders just to see them canceled the next day. Hopefully this isn’t just another way to probe the market. The hype is already very high for the All-stars therefore you need to be prepared for the launch. They are going to be limited so check with your local spots, because that’s always the best way to secure a pair. Several Nike retail stores, like for example Miami based Mr. R Sports, has already got them in, however, they should wait till Saturday for the official drop. Obviously, some stores don’t obey this rule.

Nike Basketball Introduces 2012 All-Star Game Shoe for LeBron James »

Nike Basketball has officially unveiled key colorways celebrating its pinnacle players competing in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando later this month. Taking inspiration from space exploration, the collection features a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII. Graphics pay homage to the supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while the outsoles glow in the dark and individual “mission patches” adorn each shoe as a nod to the accolades astronauts receive. All three editions will be available at select retailers and at NikeStore.com beginning February 25th.

Official Release Date for LeBron 9 “All-Star” is Februrary 24th »

A release date surrounding the NBA All-Star Weekend is always the most logical, but it’s nice to have a confirmation. And after weeks of waiting we finally have one for the upcoming Nike LeBron 9 “All-Star” Game shoes. The “Galaxy” LEBRON 9′s will be released on February 24th, 2012. The Total Orange/Metallic Silver-Team Orange-Mint Candy style will definitely stand out on the court, considering this year’s All-star Game jerseys, but I’m sure sneakerheads won’t mind that. Nobody will have a problem to spot King James even in SD quality of watching the game on a smartphone, that’s for sure. Be sure to follow @nikestore if you don’t want to miss out the drop.

Here’s yet another look at the Big Bang / Galaxy / All-Star version of the Nike LeBron 9. Simply by having three nicknames these shoes are bound to sell out fast. Anyway, the new batch of pics is probably the best one around. Allows to fully appreciate the glow-in-the-dark effect. Hopefully, their appearance on so many different online boutiques may indicate the release is coming soon. The re-sellers have already received the notice. I will update with more information once available. In the meantime check out the new pics as well as the complete gallery.
