Nike Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 U.S.A. Basketball – Detailed Photos »

With the USA Basketball team getting ready for the final showdown, let’s take a closer look at LeBron James‘ first World Championship shoes – Nike Zoom 20-5-5‘s. The Twenty Five Five was a great shoe and it’s gained the “wanted” status among many ballers. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to find a pair nowadays. We were calling them light back in the day, especially in comparison with the numbered series (ZLIII, ZLIV), but by today’s standards they would classify as slightly heavy. On the other side, 20.5.5′s cushy Zoom Air implementation is still no. 1 in my book. Anyway, I’ve stumbled upon some nice photos of the USA Basketball version, so be sure to check them out after the break. Also, check back with NLB.net soon. We are about to publish the USAB page as a part of our The Collection project.

Nike LeBron 20-5-5: White/Black/Blue Air Zoom Beast Sample »

There weren’t too many Nike Zoom 20-5-5 colorways, but it seems like we haven’t discovered them all just yet. LeBron James’ first Playoff sneaker is still considered to be one of the best Zoom Air based basketball shoes. We get tons of emails from our readers asking where to buy them, however, it’s not that easy. Although they did drop two years in a row… it’s very difficult to find them right now. A very interesting version have popped up on ebay this week. It features a rare White, Black and Blue colorway and it’s a sample version called Air Zoom Beast, which was the original name for the 20-5-5′s. More photos after the jump.

Throwback Thursday: Nike Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 “Pro-City” L.A. »

Although the Zoom 20-5-5′s were released two years in a row (2005 & 2006) there weren’t many colorways produced. At least not enough to satisfy sneakerheads. Especially when you compare them to some later Nike LeBron models. We got three GRs in the first year (plus Asia Pack), and four more shoes the second time. LeBron broke out several hot Player Exclusives during his debut in the NBA Playoffs, however, apart from that there’s only one theme worth mentioning – “Pro City”. There are several variations of the Pro City Zoom 20.5.5′s created for players participating in Nike’s basketball tournament. Each city got its own shoe, some even more than one like for example the L.A. PE featured below. Click here to see them all.

Nike Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 “Pro-City” Detroit – First Look »

According to our Nike Zoom 20-5-5 Listing there are Six different Pro City Player Exclusive colorways: Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minnesota, and New York (twice). Depending on the variation the Pro City PEs – created for players in Nike’s Pro City basketball tournament back in 2005 – feature either the classic White/Black/Silver colorway, similar to the GR version or a clean looking and much more limited White/Neutral Grey. This weekend we discovered yet another style created for the city of Detroit in the standard version, which is currently listed on eBay. The seller is one of the LeBron collectors Zach13g. Stuff like this makes you wonder… how many more are out there?

Throwback Thursday: Nike Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 “Pro-City” NYC »

Those, who’s been with us for some time know that we worship the LeBron 20-5-5 around here. So it was only a matter of time before we featured LeBron’s first summer shoe in the latest edition of Throwback Thursday (episode #10). However, there’s a reason for such a love. Even after the release of the Soldier 3.0, the Zoom 20-5-5 is still the only full-length Zoom Air basketball signature shoe that was available to public for only $110. Full-length Zoom Air is still believed to be the best cushioning system ever made! Not so long ago we profiled the other NYC Pro City edition in our Nike Zoom 20-5-5 appreciation post. However, there are two versions of NYC 20-5-5′s and today it’s time to remind our readers about the White/Black/Silver colorway. It’s probably less special due to the fact it’s only a modified GR, but still the NYC on the back and the Pro-City logo on the upper strap are definitely a nice touch.

Denver NBA All-Star PEs – Zoom LeBron II & Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 »

Niketalk‘s Jay Jones is known from blowing people’s minds with photos presenting his amazing collection. This time he decided to share his group of Nike Player Exclusives from the 2005 NBA All-Star Game, that took place in Denver. Among his 31 PEs (see all the pics!) there are two LeBron sneakers designed for the ASG. King James played in the Cool Grey/White/Royal Zoom LeBron II, but Nike customized a pair of the 20-5-5′s just in case. It’s good to have a backup. Notice a special Denver ASG logo on each shoe.

Nike Zoom LeBron 20-5-5 Appreciation Post – Pro City “NYC” »

We expressed our warm feelings towards the 20-5-5′s last week when we profiled the Navy Playoff PE. In order to put an emphasis on this special shoe we’ve prepared one more feature… yet another Player Exclusive version of the twenty-five-five. This time it’s one of the Pro-City Special Make Ups, which were created for Nike’s Summer Basketball League back in 2005/2006. There are several versions of these kicks. Both colorways and logos representing each city are what sets them apart. As for the styles involved there is either White/Black/Silver or White/Neutral Grey. Known Pro City Nike Zoom 20-5-5 customizations include: New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Minnesota. Too bad Nike’s energy releases like for example House of Hoops Exclusives weren’t possible back when the 20-5-5′s had ruled the courts. It would be very interesting too see some new colorways, that’s for sure. Although the Soldier line has picked up where the 20-5-5′s left off… maybe we will see another successor of the first Nike LeBron summer shoe… possibly something called 30-7-7. Or maybe Nike is waiting for that 30-10-10 season from King James. At this rate of his improvement… it might happen very soon :D. Anyway… enjoy couple new pics after the break. Shout out to dOubleO, who contributed to our site by donating this amazing pair of shoes. Thank you!

Looking Back at Nike Zoom 20-5-5 With the 2006 Playoff PE »

Yesterday the third Soldier incarnation was finally released to public. Today we want to look back at the shoe that started this very interesting movement and we’ve got a bunch of nice photos just for the occasion. The Nike Zoom 20-5-5, first summer shoe in the LBJ line, was released in two waves. The first batch dropped in 2005 shortly after LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers missed the NBA Playoffs due to a loosing record with the New Jersey Nets (tied for the 8th spot). With only three colorways released, without any hype or anticipation at that point, there wasn’t much to talk about. But the design was nearly flawless!
