Nike and basketball superstar LeBron James continued the More Than A Game world tour in partnership with Lionsgate in Washington D.C. yesterday. In each of the ten cities the tour will visit, Nike will make 123 pairs of the Air Max LeBron VII shoe available at retail. The limited-edition shoe aesthetic is white with green trim, inspired by the school colors of Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School (SVSM) in Akron, Ohio, where James played basketball. The Washington D.C. limited-edition style is available at the Washington D.C. Downtown Locker Room while supplies last with a suggested retail price of $200 USD. Each limited-edition style includes an image from the Lionsgate film, More Than A Game, which traces James’ journey through adolescence both on and off the court with his teammates from SVSM. These images are inspired by one of James’ six pillars or personal credos – Passion, Fearless, Tradition, Community, Family and Loyalty. The Washington D.C. style represents “Community” and has an image of the SVSM team in a huddle with cheering fans in the background. According to Jason Petrie each city will receive the same SVSM-inspired colorway with a different inset from the film and of course a different name of the city at the heel.

The reason they are the same SVSM color is because the movie is about those guys and their time together playing, largely at SVSM… It’s not about doing different colors for every city, it’s about bring the more than a game story to each city, and that story is heavily tied to svsm (via NikeTalk).

    same colorway MAKE NO SENSE!

  • Harl3m

Why would they use the same colorway? I was imagining all this time what to expect for the nyc release and you mean to tell me its going to be basically the same as the others? SMH

  • Huntre93

Dumbest idea in quite some time. Release the same basic shoe multiple times? No one will buy all these shoes unlike if they all had different inspirations.

  • Nathan

does anybody know where they will be selling the akron shoes?

  • chosen2

I thought it was gonna be a different color for each city. Its’ the same shoe but with a different photo and city on the heel very disappointed.

yeah its pretty stupid for each city to have the same colorway….i guess ill just buy the Chicago one now that I have the chance on ebay….or maybe just wait for the new york one to come out but i want these bad boys NOW!
