First Look at the Iridescent Nike Zoom LeBron IV Sample »

Here’s a first look at an unreleased sample of the LeBron IV that never made it. The Foamposite upper is an iridescent metallic silver tone, with the ankle collar made of shimmery green cobec and the swoosh a sharp neon yellow. There’s no official word on the inspiration behind this sample, but it appears that the University of Oregon Football team’s chameleon-esque helmets may have had a bit of influence on the colorway. Reminiscent of Zoom LeBron III – Nike Zoom Soldier II »

Some say LeBron James’ latest Playoff kicks – Nike Zoom Soldier II – look a lot like his third signature shoe, that being the Zoom LeBron III. As we try to explore this impression take a look at the Zoom LeBron III vs Zoom Soldier II comparison. Most of the featured IIIs come from LBJ’s first postseason experience when despite having the Playoffs oriented 20.5.5’s, which he wore only three times total, he broke out two ZLIII Area Code PEs. For more details go to 2005-06 Shoes Timeline. As you can see on the pics below, the Home PEs (White/Crimson/Gold) and the Alternates really do look similar. Even the popular Black/White/Red colorway seems to have a lot in common. The biggest difference is that the Soldier’s are or will be available to public as two of the three are regular General Release versions.

Personalized for LeBron James Nike Zoom Soldier II »

Yesterday, in the fourth game of the 2008 Playoffs, LeBron James wore the Black, White and Red Nike Zoom Soldier II. The new colorway is one of the upcoming GRs and it’s scheduled to be released in June. In the first two games King James introduced the Soldier II Cavs Home PE followed by the recently released White, Navy and Red GR version in Game 3. Usually LeBron’s PEs carry a bunch of additional logos, even the GR-look-a-likes, that make his shoes more special than they already are. Additionally LBJ’s customized game shoes are much more different than just the logos, here’s an example – LBJ’s Customized ZLIV Carbon Fiber Insole. Last year, when James led the Cavaliers all the way to the Finals he wore several customized Zoom Soldier Is. Out of the three ZSIIs there’s only one close-up photo, it’s the White and Navy version from Game 3. So far we weren’t able to spot any new logos and the only difference between James’ Player Edition and the General Release seems to be the additional sixth eyelet on his personalized game shoes. During the first two Playoff runs LeBron was equipped with the strapped, ready for the battle Zoom 20.5.5. and Zoom Soldier, and maybe this year without the extra protection he needed more of a lockdown to secure his feet. Of course there might be some other reasons too. Are you gonna “customize”(drill) your shoes in the same way?

Black Zoom Soldier I Sample with Black Camo Lasering »

Here’s yet another Nike Zoom Soldier I Sample colorway. Again, living up to its name, the Soldier I incorporates yet another camo-inspired design. LeBron’s this year’s Playoff shoes – the Soldier II – also features the Camo details, however, they mostly involve the sole as several sample colorways have been spotted. It’s an all black colorway with a similar abrasion resistant textile along the entire upper. While the Desert Storm and Soledier featured a lasered camouflage pattern along the straps and collar, this version has a more subtle black camo lasered underneath both the midfoot and heel straps. 2008 NBA Playoffs R1G4: Winning is Never Over-rated »

The DeShawn Stevenson-LeBron James feud has reached a new level. After Stevenson called on Soulja Boy to bring a Superman-sized lift to the home crowd in Game 3 on Friday, LeBron got a little boost from his good friend Jay-Z before Game 4. The story goes that Hova recorded a track rapping new DeShawn-inspired lyrics over the beat of a song by artist Too Short. The Wizards’ Caron Butler heard the song – Blow the Whistle – at a D.C. area club over the weekend and text messaged Stevenson to tell him about it. After James drew a charge call at the end of the first quarter, the crowd broke out into an “Over-rated!” chant – echoing the quip by Stevenson that started the whole feud in the first place. Later, the two had to be separated after Stevenson hit James so violently across the head that his headband flew off. Stevenson was called for a flagrant foul. James followed up the hit with a made free throw, a made 3-pointer and then two more free thows in the next 42 seconds. The Cavs went from down by one, to up by five. James admitted after the game that had the foul occurred “out on the playground” than the situation definitely would have escalated, but he had a Playoff game to worry about winning. He may have allowed himself to play along in Stevenson’s war of words, but when it was time to win the game, he didn’t let his concentration waver. James’ 34-point, 12-rebound, seven-assist performance gave birth to a new quote after the game by Cleveland coach Mike Brown that is more intriguing than any of the smack that DeShawn and LeBron have said in the past. “That was a terrific play by LeBron at the end of the game,” Brown said. “That’s why he is going to go down as the best player ever to play this game. Not only can he score and rebound, he has ultimate trust in his teammates.” The only “greatest ever” title that Stevenson can lay claim to would be for his beard. And getting attention based on your facial hair instead of your game is pretty overrated. As LeBron broke out yet another Zoom Soldier II colorway, which is one of the upcoming GRs, check out the updated Timeline Section and LeBron’s Game Four Highligths.

2008 NBA Playoffs R1G3: 66 Points Turnaround! »

The Cavaliers won the Game 2 of the series by a 30-point margin, which marked a new franchise playoff record. Yesterday they did set another team postseason mark by losing by 36. Thirty-six points is absolutely embarrassing, but a loss is a loss, and the Cavs need to focus on winning the key Game 4 on Sunday. The victory took the Wizards off the ropes by cutting Cleveland’s lead to 2-1 in the first-round series. Washington will also host Game 4 on Sunday, when coach Eddie Jordan’s players will have the confidence of knowing they aren’t destined to be forever hexed by James and Co. Cleveland had won eight straight playoff games against the Wizards, including a first-round sweep a year ago. The Cavs looked great in Games 1 and 2. Let’s see if playoff Cavs and playoff LeBron come out looking for vengeance. On a side note… LeBron James was wearing the White, Navy and Red Zoom Soldier II, which is the recently released GR version and an obvious match with team’s alternate away jerseys. See the photos after the jump.

Dunkman inspired Nike Air Force 1 LeBron James Make Up »

I’m sure everybody familiar with LeBron James’ signature shoes when reads the word “Dunkman” is starting to see things in a different color – Grey/Mean Green/White. Some use the Dunkman label referring to this classic colorway, but others say it’s the logo that make a sneaker Dunkman worthy. Nevertheless which approach is the correct one, as it has happened before, there are some Dunkman shoes that feature neither the logo nor the colorway. The logo-less Dunkman LeBrons are the General Release versions – so far there are 3 – LeBron Low ST, LeBron Soldier and LeBron V. The non-Dunkman color combo version that have been spotted so far is the Zoom LeBron Low III Dunkman PE that feature White and Black colors and the Dunkman logo on the back. Today, courtesy of solecollector.com we are able to see another such edition – Nike Air Force One. A ridiculously buttery soft black leather makes up the midfoot and heel panels, and a perforated white leather is found along the toe panels. Lebron’s Lion crest is lasered along the right heel and a “Lebron James” graphic lasered at the heel of the left shoe. Just to make things better, the shoe also features a multi-color rubber outsole and leather wrapped midsole. According to some sources there are at least three different Dunkman AF1s. The Other two are Black and Red version and of course the Mean Green one.

“Snake Skin” Nike Zoom LeBron II Low Player Exclusive »

The Low-top version of LeBron James’ second signature shoe came in a bunch of nice colorways and make ups including the one feature below. The “Snake Skin” edition is very similar to the released to public White/Silver, however, when you look closely you will see a snake-skin-like leather instead of the regular grey laser etchings. Props to Sole Supreme for the pics.
