San Antonio Spurs Are Champions Again After Defeating Miami Heat in 2014 NBA Finals »
The Spurs won the 2014 NBA Finals with a resounding 104-87 win over LeBron James and the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the best-of-seven series. A third-straight lopsided Finals victory gave the Spurs a 4-1 series triumph and avenged a heartbreaking loss to the Heat in the 2013 NBA Finals. It also brought the franchise its fifth NBA championship since it selected Tim Duncan with the No. 1 overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. All four of the Spurs wins (Games 1, 3, 4 and 5) came by 15 or more points. NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Spurs. LeBron James was the best player in the series, a truly Most Valuable Player to his team, but without help from his teammates, James stood no chance of fending off the Spurs. He couldn’t win a title with the NBA’s oldest roster this season. James wore a new pair of the Nike Zoom Soldier 7’s in Black and Gold for the elimination game. Congratulations to the San Antonio Spurs and thank you Miami Heat for a great season!
