Ever since LeBron James made his big decision to take his talents to South Beach, his Nike signature sneaker line has received a heavy influence from the culture of Miami. Obviously this means and lot of Teal, Pink and Orange on his shoes but the inspiration goes much deeper with custom palm tree graphics and a lot of glow in the dark elements. Most of us remember the South Beach 8’s as the initial Miami themed kicks, but there are some older shoes that played around with the idea of LBJ and the state of Florida coming together. The shoes you see below share a common background, but each has its own background story. Whether it’s the throwback Miami Floridians look, or repping the local sports team (University of Miami, Miami Dolphins), or paying tribute to a classic TV show (Miami Vice), or simply admiring the city during the night under bright neon lights. The latest member is a celebratory shoe inspired by LeBron James tying the knot with his long-time girlfriend Savannah and their permanent place of residency.
