To celebrate LeBron James‘ second and consecutive MVP award, Nike cooked up two MVP PEs for James, a Nike Air Max LeBron VII PE which he wore in the playoffs and was made for him only, and, a Nike LeBron VII PS that was made in retail sizes. The Nike LeBron VII PS MVP PE, like the AMLB7, is inspired by a Nike LeBron stadium jacket and features a White based upper, with Grey fleece replacing the Flywire panel, a Gold chenille Swoosh, Crimson accents, and a full length translucent outsole with Gold speckling. The sneaker features several hits that link back to James’ MVP award including “08/09” and “09/10” embroideries on the underside of the tongue, “Witness” on the heel tabs, and an “MVP” logo on the medial side. Although the MVP Nike LeBron VII PS NFW was made in a retail run, it will more than likely not see retail.

Like we’ve stated before the low-top MVP’s were just a commemorative shoe for the Most Valuable Player ceremony. And just like we’ve mentioned it on twitter earlier today, LeBron James laced up his real MVP shoes for tonight’s game… the Nike Air Max LeBron VII, of course. It’s a plain and simple colorway featuring Cavs’ native Crimson, White and Gold colors with a big MVP logo on the back of the shoe. It’s reminiscent of the MVPuppets LBJ 7 P.S. as it uses the same fuzzy materials and a similar color blocking. Enjoy the freshest pics below. Hopefully, we will get a better look soon.
Finally some PEs. I really mean it! As great as the P.S’s are it’s hard to get excited with only four colorways announced by Nike thus far. Two of them have already been released to public. Remember the MVPuppets campaign from last year’s? Kobe & LeBron puppets have been around earlier this season as well, but now as the 2010 NBA Playoffs are in play they are nowhere to be seen. Seems like Nike is paying their tribute to the MVPs as a special colorway of the Nike LeBron VII P.S. have hit the Internet. There’s no more information other than that one photo below (courtesy of powderx94), but keep checking back for updates. What’s your take on these new LeBrons?

The MVPuppets are everywhere these days. Check out Puppet LeBron and Puppet Kobe visiting the Rice vs Christ the King basketball game this past weekend. Each High School is sponsored by Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, respectively, so there was some trash talk. Also, there’s a new episode in the MVPuppets series titled “Handshake”. Apparently, the Cavaliers need to go to the training camp three weeks early just to learn their secret handshake. Most importantly, Big Z makes an appearance and joins the MVP gang. You’ve probably seen Kobe’s and LeBron’s NBA All-Star 2010 shoes, but Nike has also made special MVPuppets ASG tees featuring Puppet Kobe and Puppet LeBron. While there is no word yet on when or where these are going to drop, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear something. We can only imagine that they’ll be available throughout the Dallas area during the All-Star festivities. What do you think?Read the rest of this entry »
Two new episodes of the MVPuppets have just hit the Internet. Just in time to promote Kobe’s new kicks that are set to release tomorrow. One of them is the official episode called “House On Fire” as MVPs’ crib has burned down. Don’t worry, nobody was hurt. Fire dept. makes a surprising discovery that the fire originated in the shoe closet and the reason for that was a new ultra hot pair of shoes – Kobe V’s. Apparently they’re on fiyah. See the video below. After the break there’s another clip, Kobe rapping about his shoes.
One, Two, One, Two… King James and Kobe too. Looks like Santa – with help from Puppet LeBron and Puppet Kobe – was able to show Blitzen who runs the North Pole. After the jump more videos as the self-proclaimed “#1 reindeer in the world” has a message for Santa Claus. Santa has responded with a message of his own. Check out all three videos as it’s the Christmas Edition of the Most Valuable Puppets featuring LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and of course Lil Dez.
With MVP Season II Nike’s goal is to celebrate the universal appeal of this game and its culture. Basketball’s language, music, style and sense of competition. We’ll celebrate Kobe moments and LeBron moments. This year, MVPuppets’ audience won’t just watch, they’ll participate. They’ll view the spots on TV, get involved with the puppets online and represent their love of the MVPs in the streets. This year, the MVP campaign will honor not only the Nike brand and the best athletes but also everything that has made this game so popular on the world stage. So, are you ready to answer the question “who took LeBron’s shoes?” Was it really Kobe trying to sabotage his game? Fortunately enough, there was a security camera installed in MVPuppets’ crib. Watch the video below.
