St. Vincent – St. Mary High School is a private, coed, Catholic high school located in Akron, Ohio. It is a part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. The school is commonly abbreviated SVSM, St. V-M, ASVSM, or STVM. However, the school’s official abbreviation is STVM. LeBron James led Saint Vincent Saint Mary to state basketball championships in 2000, 2001 and 2003. He is the only player in Ohio high school basketball history to be named Mr. Basketball three times. He went directly to the NBA at the age of 18.

Nike partnership

LeBron James never forgets about his roots. No matter where he is, he always reps his hometown and of course the Saint Vincent Saint Mary High School. When he got his first NBA MVP award, that’s where the official announcement was made. He really did put Akron on the map when the “More Than a Game” documentary was released. After all “Akron Witnessed first”. Back when King James played for the Irish they had a sponsorship deal with Adidas, but even then he got plenty of Player Exclusive color ways from Nike. Nowadays, they are all Nike… head to toe – Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball teams. LeBron and Nike make sure they will never run out of kicks. St. Vincent – St. Mary HS was the first school sponsored by Nike’s LeBron brand. From Akron to Cleveland and around the world, LeBron never forgets where he came from.
