Nike Basketball’s signature athletes Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James will celebrate Christmas on the court with festive kicks that tell unique holiday stories. The collection features the triumvirate of signature kicks: Bryant’s KOBE 9, Durant’s KD 7 and James’ LEBRON 12. For the LeBron XII Xmas the emerald green base combines with the shoe’s photorealistic camouflage upper on the Hyperposite shell. The camo pattern is inspired by Akron, Ohio’s winter weather and includes a birch tree pattern. Black and Hyperpunch micro dots integrate into the camo pattern for a seasonal touch. A notable subtlety of this shoe is the snowflake formed by small hexagons on the tongue loop. Unfortunately the shoes drop on the 26th so you won’t be able to wear this ON Christmas. Oh yeah… the price tag has been upgraded to $220.

Yesterday during the introduction of the Xmas LeBron 12 the main request was to see the side of the shoe and its graphic pattern. Well, we didn’t have to wait too long and today we get the much needed lateral side preview. Basically it’s a photo of a wintery forest so it confirms the Christmas inspiration. The whole shoe fits nicely into the Christmas in South Beach theme, but I guess Nike will have to tell a different story now. Be sure to check back to nikelebron.net as the story unfolds.Read the rest of this entry »
Nike has already introduced seven different colorways of the Nike LeBron XII that were initially spanned between October 1st and December 20th. I guess this is the 8th version. Below, there’s a new LeBron 12 make up that for me looks like the next Christmas shoe for King James. A snowflake logo on the laces gives these away. I don’t know if it’s due to the Megafuse material but they do look like a Christmas sweater. Additionally, there’s an additional pattern of some sort on the stability wing, but it’s hard to tell anything based on this single teaser photo. Via @kicksordie.
Nike does not make things easy for us on Christmas. In the past XMAS themed kicks dropped on the actual Christmas Day, which means that you could not get these in time. Now it’s one day after, which makes you wonder what’s the point, right?!? Europe LeBron fans have it even worse. After nearly a 3 weeks delay Nike Basketball retailers are finally releasing the Nike LeBron XI in Green Glow, Light Crimson and Arctic Green. It’s still a great looking shoe, but I still think Nike should re-schedule their launch calendar in order for us to wear our favorite Xmas when unpacking other presents or have a chance of finding these under the Christmas tree. I guess, LeBron James won’t mind us getting them early… we get the first colorways in October before he does and currently he’s not wearing any LeBron 11’s anyway.Read the rest of this entry »
LeBron James wore the special Xmas edition Nike LeBron 11 shoes on Christmas Day. Other players brought some heat as well including two Nike Soldier 7 sightings by Norris Cole of the Miami Heat and Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors. Cole wore pretty much a copy and paste version from the LeBron 11, but Green showcased a predominantly white “Snowman” colorway. It reminds me of the “Cookie” Soldier 6 that was unveiled on Christmas Day last year. Nice touch, Nike!Read the rest of this entry »
The Miami Heat defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 101-95 on Christmas Day at the Staples Center. The win is the Heat’s fifth straight over the Lakers on Christmas Day games. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade combined for a couple of highlight plays including this epic off the glass alley oop. Just as expected, King James wore the Christmas colorway of the Nike LeBron XI… for the whole game. He did wear the redefined version, though. The shoes will be available in a little over 3 hours at major Nike Basketball retailers including online nikestore.com (Twitter Link Only) and eastbay.com (Web Only). More pics from last night’s game after the break.
Nike Basketball continues a holiday tradition with three new Christmas Day colorways of the LeBron 11, Kobe 8 System and KD VI. Each pair of this year’s Christmas Day signatures come complete with complementary logo lace locks that serve as personalized ornaments. Each pair has a unique style celebrating the season. The LeBron 11 is remixed with a mint base accented by bold red highlights and a snowflake imprint. These releases will be available online at nikestore.com starting at 8:00 a.m. EST on Thursday, December 26th. Men’s version of the Nike LeBron XI retails for $200. Grade school kids sizes will also be available.Read the rest of this entry »
The tradition of creating special Christmas colorways is quite young considering Nike’s ability to create personalized kicks. For the LeBron line it started along with the LEBRON VII. Nowadays the expansion is quite obvious and even the Soldier line was included last year. Unlike the LEBRON X, which ended up at retail as usual, the SOLDIER VI Christmas PE was created exclusively for NBA players and was showcased on NBA courts thanks to Kosta Koufus and Eric Bledsoe. Should we expect some special SOLDIER VII wears on Christmas Day? Take a closer look at the last year’s edition and stay tuned for updates.
