The Nike Soldier 8 might not get as much attention as the last year’s edition mainly because LeBron James doesn’t have to use his backup kicks anymore. However, other players in the NBA seem to be enjoying the new Soldiers and the number of PEs is higher than usual this year. On Christmas Day many players wore special colorways including the usual members of Team LeBron… Norris Cole (MIA), Draymond Green (GSW), Amare Stoudemire (NYK), DeAndre Jordan (LAC), Reggie Jackson (OKC), and Jason Smith (NYK).

LeBron James’ return to Miami as an opponent was one of the most anticipated matchups of the NBA season. He received mixed reactions when he arrived at the arena that he called home for the past four seasons. There was some booing, cheering… a little bit of both. James had 30 points and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who got 25 from Kyrie Irving and 14 from Kevin Love. Wade scored 24 of his 31 points in the first half, Luol Deng had 25 points and dogged James defensively all night, and the Heat beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 101-91 in a hyped Christmas matchup. As expected, King James laced up the special “Akron Birch” colorway of the LeBron 12, which will be dropping in just a couple of hours.
As usual, Nike hooks us their marquee stars with special editions of the Nike KD, Nike Kobe, and Nike LeBron lines. The players will rock their signature shoes on Christmas Day, but fans will be able to purchase a pair on the 26th, which was always strange to me. A bit too late to rock Christmas themed kicks. Anyway, here’s another look at the “Xmas” LeBron 12’s with a couple of on-feet pics and a special group photo showing all Christmas themed LeBrons from the Jason Petrie era… 7-12. Will you be copping the “Akron Birch” LeBron XII with a higher than usual $220 price tag?Read the rest of this entry »
Nike Basketball’s signature athletes Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James will celebrate Christmas on the court with festive kicks that tell unique holiday stories. The collection features the triumvirate of signature kicks: Bryant’s KOBE 9, Durant’s KD 7 and James’ LEBRON 12. For the LeBron XII Xmas the emerald green base combines with the shoe’s photorealistic camouflage upper on the Hyperposite shell. The camo pattern is inspired by Akron, Ohio’s winter weather and includes a birch tree pattern. Black and Hyperpunch micro dots integrate into the camo pattern for a seasonal touch. A notable subtlety of this shoe is the snowflake formed by small hexagons on the tongue loop. Unfortunately the shoes drop on the 26th so you won’t be able to wear this ON Christmas. Oh yeah… the price tag has been upgraded to $220.

Yesterday during the introduction of the Xmas LeBron 12 the main request was to see the side of the shoe and its graphic pattern. Well, we didn’t have to wait too long and today we get the much needed lateral side preview. Basically it’s a photo of a wintery forest so it confirms the Christmas inspiration. The whole shoe fits nicely into the Christmas in South Beach theme, but I guess Nike will have to tell a different story now. Be sure to check back to nikelebron.net as the story unfolds.Read the rest of this entry »
Nike has already introduced seven different colorways of the Nike LeBron XII that were initially spanned between October 1st and December 20th. I guess this is the 8th version. Below, there’s a new LeBron 12 make up that for me looks like the next Christmas shoe for King James. A snowflake logo on the laces gives these away. I don’t know if it’s due to the Megafuse material but they do look like a Christmas sweater. Additionally, there’s an additional pattern of some sort on the stability wing, but it’s hard to tell anything based on this single teaser photo. Via @kicksordie.
Nike does not make things easy for us on Christmas. In the past XMAS themed kicks dropped on the actual Christmas Day, which means that you could not get these in time. Now it’s one day after, which makes you wonder what’s the point, right?!? Europe LeBron fans have it even worse. After nearly a 3 weeks delay Nike Basketball retailers are finally releasing the Nike LeBron XI in Green Glow, Light Crimson and Arctic Green. It’s still a great looking shoe, but I still think Nike should re-schedule their launch calendar in order for us to wear our favorite Xmas when unpacking other presents or have a chance of finding these under the Christmas tree. I guess, LeBron James won’t mind us getting them early… we get the first colorways in October before he does and currently he’s not wearing any LeBron 11’s anyway.
