Throwback Thursday: Where Real Cavs Colorways Happen – The Chalk »

I love this shoe. The Six was awesome on its own, but this colorway made things special. It’s unique, has a story behind it, and I’m sure fans in Cleveland were thrilled to get a true Cavaliers colorway from Nike. That’s why I like the Akron edition so much, cause it’s also a nice match with Cavaliers’ alternate – Navy Blue – uniforms. Too bad LeBron James did wear them only once, but at least they made it a Chalk party. Anyway, what’s not to like? Patent Leather toebox? Chalk “spilled” all over the shoe? 3M reflective midsole imitating Hardwood when hit by the lights? Awesome! Nike Zoom LeBron James VI Chalk Edition Showcase »

At this point it’s unclear if Nike is going to drop yet another Zoom LeBron VI colorway (apart from the announced Superman and CTK) or if we are gonna see King James wearing any special ZL6 make ups in the 2009 NBA Playoffs. He’s most likely to rock Soldiers all the way. On the other side we really do hope Nike is ready for an MVP shoe… cause in our opinion no one else can get it this year! Did you know that LRJ has become the most CLUTCH player over the last six NBA seasons? He’s not too shabby on the defensive end either. Maybe Nike will stop at #23, cause that how many different shoes have been released to public this season. In general there are two opinions regarding the huge number of LeBrons hitting the streets. Some say it’s good, cause everybody can choose his favorite, while others think it’s simply overwhelming and hard to keep up with. But, that’s what we are here for… to keep up with all the action for you. Today, we want to focus on one of the most significant pair of Six’s – The Chalk Edition. We’ve prepared numerous photos including several shots featuring the 3M midsole. Those, who believe there are two versions (white and brown) will find their answers after the jump.

Chalk Six Available at Eastbay. Get Yours Now! »

Several weeks after the limited release of no-so-limited-anymore Zoom LeBron VI Chalk Edition, the shoes are available for an online purchase as they have just popped up at Eastbay – GO TO THE STORE. At first they were listed exclusively at Cavaliers’ Team Shop and NikeStore.com, but several days after that some local Nike retailers were selling them as well. Earlier this month a limited number of Chalk VIs hit Asia market, which has been also the case with Miami and Los Angeles colorways. Remember about all this next time you’re browsing through ebay reading descriptions like… “very limited LeBron sneaker, 1 of 50 pairs worldwide.”

High Quality Photos Featuring the Chalk Nike Zoom LeBron VI with 3M »

Although we can’t say anything bad about any of the previous Zoom LeBron VIs, the Chalk Edition is probably the most significant thus far. And that says a lot, cause there’s been quite a few colorways. Some may argue LeBron’s NYC kicks are always the most special, but behind inspiration from LeBron’s in-game ritual and Cavs’ alternate jerseys (finally some love for all those folks in Ohio!), the Chalks are beyond reach. Another thing that sets them apart from the rest of exclusive Six’s is they are far more accessible. After numerous energy releases at the House of Hoops stores, Nike finally decided to do an online launch. Kudos for that. However, some may feel disappointed about the fact they didn’t stay that way, cause right now you can get them at some of the regular Nike retailers – Footlockers, Champs, NikeTowns. If you’re lucky enough you will get them sooner than those who ordered via Cavaliers Team Shop. Personally, it’s good to see supply meets the demand for once. The Chalk VI’s – this year’s unofficial Birthday sneakers – feature plenty of small details that make them much more attractive. There’s a silhouette of LeBron holding his arms wide open on the top of the tongue and on both insoles as well. The actual Chalk is spilled around the collar and under the soles too. Baby powder bottle is hidden on the other side of the L23 logo tab. On top of that the Navy Blue patent/Canvas upper sits on a triple stitched “Hardwood” print midsole, which uses a reflective 3M material. See all that and more after the jump. Chalk Zoom LeBron VI – New Release Locations »

Yesterday the “extremely” limited chalk-throwing inspired LeBron VI dropped at all 3 House of Hoops locations and 15 Foot Locker stores. If you’re an NBA fan or have seen Nike’s commercial, you should be familiar with LeBron’s unique chalk-throwing ritual prior to the game. Differing from many styles of the LeBron VI in the past, you’ll find this edition to have a Cavaliers colorway with a navy patent toebox and a navy mesh upper. Prominent features are the hardwood court-inspired midsole (3m reflective) and the silo’ed action image on the tongue of LeBron with his arms widespread. There are also chalk sprinklings around the collar. Here’s the complete list of Footlocker locations selling the Chalks, mostly New York and Cleveland area. Be on the look out as several other stores received this not-so-much limited ZL6 including couple NikeTowns.

Nike and LeBron James Debut The Six Chalk Edition for Christmas »

As LeBron James performed his pregame routine of tossing hand chalk into the air, the sellout crowd threw packets of white confetti aloft with him, creating a blizzard-like effect inside Quicken Loans Arena. The theatrical stunt was to promote James’ new Nike “Chalk” shoe, one of several variations he has worn this season. “That was unbelievable,” James said of the indoor snowstorm. “I will never forget that.” The Wizards intended to wear their blue road jerseys, which included a white holiday snowflake on the front. But James wanted to wear blue to match his new Nike “chalk” shoes and the Cavaliers sent an employee to Washington to fetch the Wizards’ white jerseys. The Nike Zoom LeBron VI Chalk Edition was on sale on X-Mas day (at Cavaliers Team Shop, and NikeStore) and it sold out almost instantly. Just like in the case of his Big Apple shoes fans wanted to get this special make up featuring a silhouette of Lebron in the “chalk pose” on tongue top and sockliner, and also spilled chalk screen-print at collar.
