Throwback Thursday: Nike Soldier “Desert Storm” Alternate »

The “Desert Storm” concept applied for the Nike Zoom Soldier is one of my favorites. Too bad it’s never seen the light of the day. Fitting the name of the Nike Zoom Soldier line, Nike cooked up and buried a very interesting colorway featuring a camouflage pattern and gum soles. As it usually happens with samples, there’s not just one Desert Storm make up, but at least two. The new version is a “non-metallic” alternate. Everything that was metallic-gold on the first pair is a non-metalic light brown material on the second. Continue reading for more comparison pics after the break. Big thanks to gettinit247 for sharing!

Throwback Thursday: Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier “Black Ops” PE »

Last week we posted a detailed look at a very rare colorway of the Nike Zoom Soldier in a Wheat Camo colorway aka “Desert Storm.” There’s an equally unique pair that would have also made a great combat shoe, but features a predominantly black upper with camo inprint. It’s the first time we’re seeing them up close and similar to the previous militarized version of the Soldiers… it never came out. That’s really too bad, cause both of them are pretty nice. Continue reading for more photos. Courtesy of gettinit247.

Throwback Thursday: Nike Zoom Soldier “Desert Storm” PE »

The first installement of the Soldier series has been “militarized” in many ways. It all started with the release of the “Sole-dier” edition, a collab shoe between the Swoosh and Sole Collector. Nike didn’t stop there, though. They made many more shoes, which would have been suitable for army men. The best case and point example is the presented below “Desert Storm” sample colorway of the Nike Zoom Soldier. The first Soldier will be always remembered for accompanying LeBron James during his first ever trip to the NBA Finals. I really regret Nike didn’t pull the trigger with these back in 2007, especially with the House of Hoops emerging as a new outlet for limited kicks. The Wheat Camo make up of the ZS1 was seen for the first and only time on wallpaper shots, but they have been recently unveiled thanks to one of ultimate Nike LeBron collectors – gettinit247. Ejony the pics.

PE Spotlight: Nike Zoom Soldier Navy & Gold 2007 NBA Finals PE »

LeBron James wore a handful of sneakers in 2007 NBA Finals, but he never got to wear this one! Last month, we profiled a White&Gold colorway with WITNESS and FINALS 2007 stitched on the ankle area, but that one was actually worn by King James in Home games 3&4. The same Finals make up customized for Away games has never been laced up though. Maybe it would have been if there were more games to play, but it’s nice to share this rare Player Exclusive with our readers. Thanks to my special friend for the pics!

PE Spotlight: Nike Zoom Soldier White & Gold 2007 NBA Finals PE »

In 2007, Nike wasn’t ready for LeBron James’ appearance in the NBA Finals. Seems like King James and the Cleveland Cavaliers weren’t prepared as well due to some serious broom action applied by the San Antonio Spurs’. Even though it took only four games to dispatch the Cavs, LeBron, being Nike’s marquee athlete, needed some recognition on his shoes. The Swoosh came up two special make ups for the Finals. They took LeBron’s first post season shoe – Zoom Soldier – in Cleveland’s Home White&Gold colors and added some stitching around the collar saying “WITNESS” & “FINALS 2007″. There’s also a Navy colorway and we will profile that one too sometime soon. Thanks to our readers who keep sending us these amazing pics. Also, check out this listing for more information. Enjoy!

Nike Zoom Soldier PE – LeBron James’ Baseball Cleats »

Baseball cleats occupy a big part of the shoes industry, especially in the U.S.A. They have their own line of sneakers, including several signature models. However, every now and then they borrow some designs from basketball and make them into cleats. For example the Nike Huarache 2k4, which was a big hit on the ballpark. During his short baseball career Micheal Jordan has had a lot of his shoes transfered into cleats. Seems like Nike has tried that for LeBron James too as photos presenting his Zoom Soldier “cleated” have surfaced the Internet. The result… it looks very interesting, but see for yourself after the break.

Throwback Thursday: Nike Zoom Soldier Ohio State Away PE »

One of three currently featured themes in The Collection is the Ohio State University. OSU has been very special for Nike & LeBron. After all that’s where LeBron would play if he hadn’t made an instant jump into the NBA. Also, you gotta love their shoes simply because their native Grey & Red colors are a treat to look at. Although the OSU theme has started along with the Zoom LeBron IV, it’s their second shoe that’s is the hardest to get. The Nike Zoom Soldier Away Edition in OSU’s Red / White / Silver, doesn’t even feature the “O” logo anywhere on the shoes, but the Buckeyes did wear them a lot. Continue reading for more photos.

LeBron’s Nike Zoom Soldier USA Basketball Player Exclusive »

Although LeBron James hasn’t fully committed to playing some USA Basketball this summer we would love to see him continue his support to the country. After all, playing on an international stage with the biggest names around you is what allows basketball to expand its borders. For us sneakerheads it also means more shoes. The U.S.A. squad has already redeemed themselves after winning the Olympic Gold, but they still need to avenge the loss in the 2006 FIBA World Championship. LBJ has a lot of nice kicks in Olympic/USA colorways and the one you see below is one of the rarest as it’s the first time they are posted online. Back in 2007, Nike released the Navy/White/Red Zoom Soldier to public. We have already profiled one of King James’ Player Exclusives, but it was the same as the GR plus some special USA logos. He wore that in the State Farm Challenge in Las Vegas. Finally, when the 2007 FIBA Americas started for good he switched to the other PE, which apart from the USA logos featured a different color blocking. If you’d like to get a pair be sure to visit eBay as one pair in LeBron’s size (16) is available for purchase. Continue reading for more photos.
