Last week the upcoming Nike LeBron 9 was introduced to the sneaker world. It wasn’t an official announcement by Nike, but it still took a while for the very first leak to surface the Internet. We already posted numerous photos covering pretty much every angle, including small details like Gladiator movie quotes on the toebox, but in case you missed it here’s a fresh batch. This time we get a better look at the back of the shoe, which possesses the new LJ logo and words NINE (heel tab) and LEBRON JAMES. Here’s the whole gallery containing 40 different photos for a complete preview.

  • Can’t wait to have these and other colors

  • Ok, Now it shows more clear pictures. It’s not that bad but rather wait and see in person.

  • fugly :???: cant nike just release stuff we liked

  • sd_fuller

Wow those are ugly. I have no idea what they are doing at LJ. Good thing we are not likely to see these anytime soon, since there is an NBA lockout.

  • wyatt6

sick i love these

  • Atrain6

These are nice. Everyday I like them more. Can’t wait to pick these up.

  • Alcindor

Let’s just hope Kobe makes a dope shoe!

  • domaye

these picks look much better but the shape overall reminds me of the skyposites that cameout recently that i did not like =/

  • jjohns9

9s will come out on time regardless i would imagine. if there’s a lockout or not

  • It may look fugly, but wonder how it feel ? Cause they might be comfortable.

  • I think I see what Nike is doing I believe there is 2 layers to the shoe. I think LeBron since he drives in the paint a lot possibly get hit on his foot and if that is true then on the most frequent areas that would happen would be where the Nike Pro Combat (under the NFW material and it is also on the ankle for stronger ankle protection. And under that is where the hyper fuse located. Also if you look closely this shoe will either have the same or similar lock down with the LeBron 8 because it has like the strap the LeBron 8 v2 had it wasn’t necessarily as a strap I just refer it as that, a better example is the Lebron 8 P.S. where the fly wire is removed for lock down is what Nike did with the LeBron 9 except it has flywire. So that must be the first layer to the shoe. I believe the hyper fuse is also located on the toe box area & on the medial side of the shoe with fly wire inside of it. Same mesh from the LeBron 8 from the tounge on this tounge. That’s all I can say right about it now. If it’s like that sounds like a wonderful performing shoe!

    NBA lockout won’t affect shoes… -___-

  • Ok, if there will be NBA lockout. Then what is the point buying this shoes. Cause Lebron won’t be playing in that shoes. That would be a waste of time if Nike would still release that shoes. I mean don’t want people think that’s Lebron lockout shoes. If I were Nike, I would rather wait and just to make sure no lockout. Then go ahead and release it. I really hope all NBA players and owners work it out before season start.

  • I care how they look. performance be damed. Lebron need shoes that look good not fugly. that why he played best in V1/8 …now more v1/8s pls and bigger runs ffs :x

  • jjohns9

People aren’t going to stop buying basketball shoes altogether for a whole year if there’s a lockout. There’ll always be a market for bball shoes so why wouldn’t people keep buying Lebrons even if they don’t get to see Lebron in them. I know I’ll at least be coppin the best looking GR colorway.

  • mightymouse

why so high? it would look good if it was a midtop, then that would also take away the clover effect of the nfw.

just take away the heel tab and the the high side, and the shoe would look fine

  • LebronFan

:???: this shiz r freakin ugly, i liked all of lebons other shoes until now, i wud not buy wear these unless i got dem 4 free

  • Heat

i bet once he drops a dope cw all yall will be swallowing ur words. Dont judge so fast

  • don’t judge so fast? hmm let’s see..
    no lionhead
    no 360 air unit
fugly pull tab plus what every1else said
did i mention no lionhead and no 360 air unit? its not the colorway, bub
