After the Drop: Nike Air Max LeBron VII “Akron Zips” Close Ups »

After his departure from the St. Vincent St. Mary High School to the NBA, LeBron James didn’t attend any schools in his hometown – Akron, Ohio. However, he always wanted to put Akron on the map and thanks to his support… sneakerheads know what Akron is all about. Nike and King James released the Nike Air Max LeBron VII “University of Akron” edition at House of Hoops stores yesterday. The shoe features AU Zips native colors – Navy and Gold – with “Zippy the Kangaroo” logo placed on the medial side on the back. The laces sport 3M reflective dots similar to the Dunkman edition. They really look amazing in person… hopefully they’re in good hands right now. Check out couple new photos from the happy owners on NikeTalk and SoleCollector forums. Our own pics will be ready in a week or so… stay tuned. Btw… they look great with jeans, don’t they?

Cavs Dismante Celtics. King James Debuts the Phantom Alternate. »

The Cleveland Cavaliers have finally shook off that post All-Star Game 0-3 slump. After beating the Hornets on Tuesday, they went to the TD Garden, where they lost nine straight games entering last night’s match up. LeBron James and company dominated the Celtics late in what seemed to be a close game for the most part. LBJ had 36 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, Mo Williams scored 14 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, and Cleveland took control in the second half on their way to a 108-88 victory Thursday night. Cavaliers improved to 20-10 on the road, tying Boston for the best in the NBA, and avenged a 95-89 home loss on opening night. King James has been wearing Hardwood Classic PEs in most recent games, but he switched to something new last night. He laced up an alternative version of the Phantom colorway, but this time his shoes featured a unseen before suede upper. Continue reading for more photos.

Throwback Thursday: Nike Air Zoom Generation “Playoff” PE »

LeBron James didn’t make his Playoff debut until his third NBA season. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers were very close in 2004 and 2005, finishing on that unlucky ninth place (just missed ‘em). We all know that releasing sneakers in the right moment, to feed of the hype, requires a lot of advanced planning. That’s why sometimes there’s an All-Star Game shoe being made when it shouldn’t drop. Also, as it happened with the Soldier III, the Finals edition had to be scrapped for the same reason. Anyway… sometimes… we’re missing out big time. In 2004, Nike created a special Playoff make up of the Nike Air Zoom Generation. Back then a Playoff shoe was represented by a clean colorway of athlete’s signature shoe for the season, not necessary a completely new silhouette. Who knows… maybe we would have had that AZG #6 available in stores. It’s not like there where too many. All we can do now is appreciate this stylish Player Exclusive version via new photos posted below. Shout out to Sole Supreme.

Those who follow us on twitter or via our release dates page already know this, but let’s make things official. The Nike Air Max LeBron VII “University of Akron” Limited Edition will be released this Saturday (2/27) at House of Hoops stores. It’s the third AU shoe from the Nike LeBron collection after the ZS3 and ZL6 dropped last year. The Akron AMLVII is a House of Hoops exclusive. Leaked: Nike Air Max LeBron VII Fairfax Home Player Exclusive »

It took a while to find photos presenting the latest Fairfax Soldiers, but the Air Max LeBron VII is here early. It’s a great day for Fairfax fans. Similar to our previous post it’s also the Home Player Exclusive, which usually doesn’t get much love. Additionally, Fairfax players wear Away make ups more often even with their Home uniforms. Earlier this month they introduced the AMLVII Away PE, and while we are still looking for some close ups… the Home edition has surfaced. It’s a predominantly White colorway with minor Yellow accents, Red Air Max unit and the Swoosh. The Fairfax Lions logo sits on the medial side on the back of the shoe. If you’d like to get a pair this might be your chance. What do you think? Which High School or College version is your favorite? Let us know via the comment box below.

First Look: Nike Zoom Soldier III Fairfax Home Player Exclusive »

After the Fairfax High School, has branched off and their Nike LeBron products become unavailable to public it’s been very difficult to find any of their shoes… even photographs. In December we profiled the Zoom Soldier III Away Player Exclusive as a part of our Wearing Brons section, but the Home edition was nowhere to be seen. Fortunately for us sneakerheads, one pair in size 14 has just popped up on eBay. I must say that the Lions’ Home PE, presented below, is simply on fire! A very plain design, but it’s definitely eye-catching due to the Patent Leather toebox, Yellow stitching, laces and a big Fairfax logo on the lower midfoot strap. Too bad they don’t come out anymore and it’s very difficult to get a pair unless you play for the Lions. Btw… be sure to check out the ZS3 Listing, featuring over 40 different colorways.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII All-Star Limited Edition Showcase »

A lot has changed since the All-Star break. The Cleveland Cavaliers made some interesting trades as they seem more prepared for the upcoming NBA Playoffs. However, they are currently on a 3-game losing streak instead of the franchise best 13-game winning streak. Let’s hope that’s due to the required adjustment period. Some things stayed the same, though. LeBron’s ASG kicks are just as nice as they were before. Probably even hotter after seeing them on court in Dallas. If you’re still looking for a pair be sure to check out kix-files.com or osneaker.com. Both deals are pretty nice considering the limited number of pairs released to public.
