New pics of the Camo Nike Soldier II with Dunkman »

We showed you these shoes two times already, but so far only two pics covering one angle were posted. The Soldier II has plenty of interesting spots and from the looks of it each colorway is unique in some way. All the shoes have one thing in common… the Dunkman logo, the new version, on the sole. For so long fans complained about having no logo on the GR Dunkmans and who would have foreseen that we will get the logo on every single colorway of the Soldier II (despite the samples of course). Some are satisfied, some are not, but it adds something special to the shoe that’s for sure. I’m not a fan of the Black, Green and Red color combination, which is the reason I didn’t like the Dark Camo Soldier I, but this version is much better plus the contrasting red Dunkman on the translucent camo sole makes my eyes pop out of thier orbits!

Sample Version of the Soldier II with Laser Etchings »

So far a lot of cool and never-meant-to-be-seen samples have been posted. Here’s another one. This looks like the Black and Anthracite sample, but without the Akron map and with some special, basketball inspired laserings on the upper. It’s unlikely that we see this Zoom Soldier II colorway dropping in stores, but I guess I am not the only who feels that we should get some dope sneakers like this.

Upcoming Nike Zoom Soldier II Black/Anthracite Pics »

Apart from the released White and Navy and several confirmed colorways like the Black, White and Red, which is slated for release in June, and the China Exclusive, the All Black version of the Nike Zoom Soldier II is also expected to be released this summer. Besides the catalog pic, that presents the sample colorway, we already showed you this shoe back in December. Today we give you a couple more pics. This version has an Akron map inprinted accross the shoe instead of the usual perforation.

2008 NBA Playoffs R2G7: An Epic Battle, But Cavaliers Come Out on the Loosing End »

LeBron James and Paul Pierce guarded each other up and down the court in a historic duel on Sunday. James won the individual matchup with a game-high 45 points, but the coronation is still on hold as the Celtics eliminated the defending Eastern Conference Champions, 97-92. Though his scoring increased throughout the series, James struggled to find openings in the Celtics’ defense. After stumbling to 12 points on 2-of-18 shooting from the floor in Game 1, James scored at least 30 points in each of the final three games, but finished shooting just 35.5 percent. Paul Pierce hit a shot. Then LeBron James answered. Pierce hit another and so did James. It was like that all game long, two of the NBA’s best trying to carry their teams to the next round. Pierce and the Boston Celtics succeeded, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers. Twenty years earlier there was another thrilling shootout in another seventh game of the Eastern Conference semifinals in Boston — Larry Bird vs. Dominique Wilkins. And the result was the same: a narrow Celtics victory that sent them to the conference finals against Detroit. “We both tried to will our team to victory and, just like Dominique Wilkins, I ended up on the short end and the Celtics won again,” said James. “I think the second round of the postseason, Game 7, these fans will finally have an opportunity to forget a little bit about what Larry Bird and Dominique Wilkins did and remember what Paul and LeBron did.

Zoom Soldier II Black, White and Red Camo Sole Sample »

The Black, White and Red Zoom Soldier II is the second colorway that is said to be released this summer. It’s scheduled to drop in June. It’s actually one of the versions that LeBron James has been wearing in the 2008 Playoffs. However, just like in the case of the White, Navy and Red Soldier II, where the shoes changed a lot before the actual release, the Black/White/Red version will be also different than the first sample. LeBron’s game shoe and the releasing product has a white midsole with a red Dunkman on the bottom while the samples had a very interesting camo inspired sole with no Dunkman on it. More pics of the sample colorway after the jump.

2008 NBA Playoffs R2G6: Win or Go Home, Game 7 on Sunday »

The Boston Celtics are going home for another Game 7. They handled the Atlanta Hawks. LeBron James may not be as easy. And luckily for the Celtics, Game 7 is on their home floor. Boston is now 7-0 at home 0-6 on the road this postseason following Friday’s 74-69 loss in Cleveland, which won despite shooting 32 percent. James scored 32 points – 19 in the second half – and the Cavaliers forced a decisive and fitting finale to this home-sweet-home playoff series.

2008 NBA Playoffs R2G5: Homecourt Advantage Is The Key »

Three times, previous to Wednesday night, LeBron James had played in a Game 5 that would break a 2-2 series tie, and in those three games, he had scored an average of 41.7 points. His Cavs, of course, won all three games. So, basically: whenever he had the chance in a 2-2 series, even if it meant scoring 40-plus points, LeBron had never failed to give his Cavs a 3-2 lead. Until now. James, who shot under 26 percent in the first four games, was 12-of-25 from the field but made just four of his last 14 shots and missed all five of his 3-pointers. Cleveland, who led in the first half and trailed most of the second, cut an 88-77 lead to 91-87 on two free throws by Delonte West with 46 seconds to play. But, after running down the shot clock, Garnett got the rebound of his own miss and Paul Pierce hit five free throws in the last 16 seconds to ice the win. By the time the night came to a close, home teams in the four semifinal series had improved to a record of 19-1. Someone is going to have to beat the Celtics in Boston to keep them from winning their 17th NBA title. Boston has the home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, however, no team has ever won a title without winning an away game.
