Official Look at Nike LeBron 13 "Written in the Stars" »
The NIKE LEBRON XIII was officially unveiled yesterday in Akron. Event was hosted by Kristen Ledlow at the University of Akron, James and Nike designers are providing insight behind the designs of his new sneakers and revealing a few details on what to expect moving forward.
Nike has finally explained some aspects of the shoe. On the upper the breathable mesh upper hugs the foot, while Flywire technology cables provide an adaptive, natural fit and excellent lockdown.
“Hyperposite on the midfoot and collar adapts to the forceful torque exerted by James at top speed. Wrapping the top of the foot, it also enhances durability and support while maintaining flexibility and providing protection. An asymmetrical lacing system finishes the upper and supplements lockdown and foot containment.” Sounds great and I hope it’s really flexible because we right now we have people worried about the posite sections being too stiff.
“Four Zoom Air units in the outsole provide maximum response and cushioning on impact. Two of the units are 13 millimeters thick – larger than those in the LEBRON 12 in total volume; one in the heel and one in the ball of the foot. Two additional hexagonal Nike Zoom units are placed in the forefoot at peak pressure points.” Turns out two of the pods are empty after all. Let’s see if they will stick with this reasoning when the Elite version comes out.
The LEBRON 13 Written in the Stars colorway is available October 1 in Greater China and globally on October 10, followed by the LEBRON 13 Away colorway denoting Cleveland’s season tipoff on the road in Chicago on October 27. The LEBRON 13 is available for NIKEiD customization on September 30.
