Cavs Lose Thriller, Kyrie? in Game 1 vs. Warriors. LeBron Gets 44 Points. »
Stephen Curry had 26 points and eight assists, and the Golden State Warriors held off LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers for a thrilling 108-100 overtime victory in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. James, working mostly in Michael Jordan-styled isolation plays in the post, added a personal career Finals-high with 44 points, but it wasn’t enough as Golden State pulled away in what was previously a close and contested affair.
LeBron had a chance to end the game in regulation, but dribbled down the clock and missed a contested jumper over Andre Iguodala just inside the left arc. It would be his third career buzzer beater at Oracle Arena. Golden State pulled away in the overtime, but they could lose much more with Kyrie Irving, who re-injured his left knee and limped to the locker room after aggravating his troublesome left knee in overtime. He did not return.
King James debuted a special NBA Finals edition of the Nike LeBron 12… a predominantly white colorway with a touch of Gold and Wine.
