It didn’t take long for the newest colorways of the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 to debut on NBA courts. Three new make ups dropped last week and we’ve already seen two of them in NBA games, and no it wasn’t LeBron James. King James has limited himself to the initial version of the LeBron 8 V/2 and his personalized Black/White PE. Lately he’s been switching laces more often than shoes. Other players have found a good match with the new make ups. Damien Wilkins of the Altanta Hawks wore the Yankee pair last night while Ty Lawson of the Denver Nuggets rocked no other than the Entourage on Thursday… an obvious match for Nuggets’ native colors. It was only a matter of time. My bet was on J.R. Smith to do it first though. Couple more images after the jump.

The last, but definitely not least from the just released Nike LeBron 8 V2 March “Big Three” is the Navy/White/Silver edition. Unlike Entourages and Summit Lakes, the so called Yankee colorway is a General Release. For that reason they should be much more accessible. A full size run is currently available at Even though it’s the least hyped pair, these detailed photos make them look very appealing. Actually, all LBJ8 V2 styles are simply off the chain!

Those who have been following LeBron long enough, and even those who are new to the game, know about his special relationship with the city of New York. Since King James’ 4th season Nike debuts one or even more NYC themed kicks, each season. I like to think it has more to do with a high demand for kicks in the Big Apple more than LBJ’s desire to play for the Knicks. Let’s do some math. One ZLIV (Graffiti), Two ZLV’s (Yankees, Mr. Basketball), and Three ZLVI’s (White/Navy GR, Big Apple, Taxi). If Nike is going to follow up this pattern we can see a lot of NYC shoes in the upcoming months including this special low top version. So far we’ve had two (White/Navy, and MTAG NY). One of most memorable shoes from the group was definitely the New York Yankees edition, which was the first one to reach the public on a large scale. For our last post in 2009, let’s take a closer look at this special make up featuring Spike Lee’s autograph, who’s been know to wear a lot of LeBron James’ sneakers. Happy New Year!!!

Prior to LeBron’s only visit to MSG this season, Nike unveiled a special New York Yankees edition of the Air Max LeBron VII. Although King James laced up the Red Carpet colorway for the occasion, he did break out the Yankee PE couple days later. The New York themed LBJ7 is also available to public, but it doesn’t include the unique lasering added on the toebox commemorating Yankees’ 27th World Series title. Last week, Spike Lee was spotted wearing the Player Exclusive version in a game between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers. Looking good, but I am not so sure about that pants.

LeBron James didn’t storm off the court this time. Instead, he shook hands with teammates and anyone who offered, walking to the locker room slowly with an ever-so small grin. He also departed Orlando with the most important thing this time: a win. LeBron James scored 36 points, Shaquille O’Neal provided an inside presence and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Orlando Magic 102-93 on Wednesday night in a rematch of the Eastern Conference finals. O’Neal battled boos and bruises to score 10 points and keep Dwight Howard in foul trouble for most of the night, giving James and Co. all the inside strength they sorely lacked last season. The biggest difference was Mo Williams, who added 28 points to help the Cavs take a “W”. King James sported the recently unveiled Nike Air Max LeBron VII in the New York Yankees colorway. Seems like LBJ has a thing for red laces. Check out pics below.

Yesterday, after spending their morning participating in their victory parade, players from LeBron’s favorite baseball team have made their way to Madison Square Garden to watch The King in his only game in New York this season. The next time LeBron steps out of the house with his favorite baseball cap, he can hook it up with a special – and timely – version of the Air Max LeBron VII. The NYC VII features the common White and Navy colorway with unique lasering added on the toebox commemorating Yankees’ 27th World Series title. Nike and LeBron continue their support to his beloved team, which started with a special edition of the Zoom LeBron V and continued with the Zoom LeBron VI last year. In today’s edition of “Wearing Brons” we review NBA courts, but we don’t focus on King James. This time, we find other NBA players, who use/used the latest Nike LeBron sneakers – Zoom LeBron 6. Nate Robinson, broke out the Triple Black Six long before LBJ did, and in the past few games he has been wearing the All Black Six again. Jeff Green of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who rocked the Soldiers last preseason, has switched his Nike Powermax and in the last two games he was seen rocking the Yankees Edition. More pics of both LeBron ballers after the jump. Do you know any other NBA players who put on LBJ kicks from time to time? If so please do let us know.

In one of our first posts about the All-Star VI, we claimed it to be a little too similar to the White/Navy GR aka Yankee Six. Now we want to show you how much similar they really are and ask you if they are not too much alike. Both shoes feature Navy suede upper, Patent Leather toebox, White swoosh, Navy outsole and contrast stitching. In general, we feel that the ASG VI is a “custom” version of the Yankees as it sports the Navy/Powder Blue gradient toe box, Light Blue heel and a different shade of the stitching on the midsole. Yes, they do match the NBA All-Star Game jerseys and we don’t mind it being plain, but somehow it just doesn’t feel like a deserving ASG shoe. The overall look of the Allstars is nice, the modifications are really good, but maybe the White/Navy base was not such a good idea to pull this off. Anyway… for those, who missed out on the ASG VI and would really like to get a pair, has several sizes available for sale. What are your opinions? Do you like it as it is or do you feel it could have been better?
