The Dunkman theme has become mediocre based on the past releases. It used to be the most amazing thing as far as LeBron James’ signature collection goes. Now it’s just blah. The last decent version worthy of the Dunkman legacy was the LeBron VII. However, if we expand from General Release to Player Exclusive styles… things are slightly for the better. The presented Dunkman LeBron 9 Elite was never released to public, but it sports a very interesting look. It’s very bright, but the Black Carbon Fiber panels add more balance to the shoe… something that was missing from the Volt Dunkman LeBron X. It helps that the Dunkman logos are in the right place too. Not hidden inside like in the LeBron 11 Dunkman, but sitting atop the throne. It’s never easy to find decent pics of rare PEs, but here’s nice set of pics. Check out the complete Dunkman collection and its next member that’s about to release this summer.

Last year a very rare pair of the LEBRON 9 PS leaked to the Internet. Last month, it turned out there are two very similar “Statue of Liberty” colorways. Both of them sport the South Beach theme and feature MVP badges on the tongue and MVP insoles inside. Both of them have recently popped up on eBay and turns out that when you combine South Beach and MVP then sky’s the limit to setting new Nike LeBron PE prices. The Statue of Liberty version fetched $5,200 while the South Beach version topped that with a highest bid of $7,700. I guess times when you could own rare Nike LeBron PEs with a three-digit number in your PayPal account are long gone, no?

Last year we posted a sneak peek at the “Statue of Liberty” version of the Nike LeBron 9 PS Elite. What we have here is the second variation on the Statue of Liberty theme. Thanks to instyleshoes.com we have awesome detailed images of these two great shoes. Both are very rare Player Exclusive styles and were never released tu public. Nike made a few other sneakers around the time of the LEBRON 9 that got the “Statue of Liberty” treatment. The nickname kind of stuck to these but they could also be referred to as an MVP sample as you can see from the logo on the tongue and on the insole. The second pair has the same base color, but has some pink that may remind you of the South Beach 8’s or Miami Vice 9′. You may call them the reverse Statue of Liberty, South Beach Elite, or just an alternate MVP shoe. Enjoy the detailed look below.

Two years ago Nike released a memorable Galaxy collection of sneakers inspired by the NBA All-Star Game taking place in Houston… home of NASA. They followed up with the popular “Big Bang” LeBron 9’s with a similar colorway for the PS Elite version, however, the later one was never released to public. Here’s a detailed look at the “Galaxy” LeBron 9 PS PE, which shows that all the original design elements were preserved in the Elite version. This includes the 3M detailing on the laces pull tab, the Galaxy theme on the inner lining as well as the glow in the dark outsole. Check out the new pics below.

LeBron James shared an image of him wearing the Nike LeBron 9 P.S. Elite Volt Dunkman PE, also known as the Tennis Balls colorway. It’s not the first time we’re seeing him wearing these bright kicks… he did so during the summer (see the second pic below). The shoes were never released to public, but were very popular in the community after James posted the shoes as a part of the LEBRON 9 PS Elite PE 4-pack including the Dunkman, Galaxy, China and Cannon colorways (also pictured below).

Back in 2012, LeBron James wore an array of LEBRON 9 PS Player Exclusive styles. His logic was simple… two Home colorways, two Away colorways and the final blow, which came with the NBA Finals PE. Recently we profiled the other Miami Away version, and now we get a detailed look at the Black and Red PE, also known as, the Hunger Game shoes. King James wore his Miami Heat inspired Black and Red LEBRON 9 Elite PEs on a number of occasions, but it took a 45 point performance in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals versus the Boston Celtics to put these on the map. It’s a killer style and it’s really too bad Nike never capitalized. I’m pretty sure fans would really appreciate a broader release for a change. Enjoy the detailed look below and check out the 2012-13 Timeline for other wears.

The Watch the Throne LeBron 9 shoes are one of the most sought after items from the LeBron James collection. They’re obviously very hard to find because this special make up was created for three special friends: LeBron James, Kanye West and Jay-Z. Supposedly there are three different version of this shoe. The first one includes the regular clear outsole and gold swoosh while the other two feature a glow in the dark outsole with different swoosh variants (reflective and non-reflective). Apparently the presented GITD with a non 3m reflective swoosh is the most limited.

We showed you the Aways earlier this month. Today, we’re granted with an exclusive look at the Home edition of the Nike LeBron 9 P.S. Elite. We did get a pretty decent look after King James wore these in Game Two versus the New York Knicks in last year’s Playoffs. Now , nearly 18 months later, we get to take a much closer look at this rare Player Exclusive. It’s one of two Miami Heat Home colorways… this one features a clean White / Black upper with the Red midsole providing an additional pop. Like in other PE styles, LeBron’s jersey number #6 is imprinted on the back of the shoe. Shout out to @tootall4basketball and @jr_lyon for sharing!
