Following the initial look a month ago, we now have a new set of pictures presenting the Summit Lake Hornets edition of the Nike Zoom Soldier 8. This Cave Purple styled colorway joins the recently revealed Cannon make up as both new Soldier 8’s are expected to be released in the upcoming weeks. The “Horners” Zoom Soldier VIII features a Black and Purple upper highlighted with Silver branding and Hyper Grape details including a speckled midsole. White outsole completes the look below. Stay tuned for more updates on the Soldier series and enjoy the new looks after the jump.

The Air Max LeBron VII Low was the precursor of the 360 Air Max based LeBron James’ signature low-tops, which still go strong today. However, the first version of the LeBron 7 Low, the budget one, didn’t come with the 360 degree cushioning and seems like it was just a trial project with only 2 Air Max colorways released to public. It didn’t stop Nike designers from creating a couple of special ones including the presented “Miami Dolphins” and “Summit Lake Hornets” styles. The real story behind them is a way of telling a story of LeBron James moving to Miami back in 2010 through this “Where You Came From… and Where You’re Going To” pack. I guess the pack has a different meaning today and it’s more like “Where You Go To College… and Come Back Home”. After all LeBron James graduated and now it’s time for a new chapter… shoes-wise, too.

Last year Nike re-visited the Summit Lake Hornets theme and applied this unique Purple and Teal (sometimes Aqua) colorway onto the Nike LeBron 11. The result was quite pleasing. Since folks at Nike don’t like to repeat when it’s not needed there’s no guarantee that the new LeBron 12 will receive a similar make up. There is, however, a new version of the Nike Soldier 8 sporting the Hornets look with its Purple upper and minor Teal accents on the logos, inner lining, zipped collar and a lot of speckles on the midsole. Check out the fist look at the “Summit Lake Hornets” Soldier 8’s below on stay tuned for updates on launch date once available.

I’ve been waiting for a new Hornets shoe from the Nike LeBron brand for a really long time. The last time Nike did the Summit Lake Hornets theme was for the LeBron 9 (mid and low) and I was not so thrilled about them skipping the next generation. When I heard about the posite coming back my hunger for Hornets 11’s grew bigger… we all know how this works… Foamposite + Purple = Eggplant. Fortunately Nike Basketball has answered the call and the result is quite amazing. The color combination of Court Purple and Vivid Blue works very well together and the 3M honeycomb pattern adds even more flavor. I like how they were able to add Red without spoiling the theme. I’m glad these were made as a GR, too. Enjoy a couple of detailed shots below and let us know how the SLH’s rank against other colorways.Read the rest of this entry »
The Nike LeBron XI in the “Summit Lake Hornets” colorway pays homage to the AAU basketball team where LeBron James honed his basketball skills on his way up through the youth ranks. While LBJ is gone from Ohio, there’s no shortage of LeBron sneakers that still connect with his home turf. The Hornets LeBron 11 takes the theme quite literally with a blue and purple beehive-like hexagonal print across the upper. The most nostable detail as far as the theme is concerned is the honeycomb overlay that falls between the cracks of the Hyperposite pieces. The shoes drop tomorrow at major Nike Basketball retailers including Footaction, Champs, Footlocker and Nike.com. For weeks it has appeared that the Summit Lake Hornets colorway of the Nike LeBron XI will conclude the 11 series. However, with the recent unveiling of the Black out (drops on March 29th) and South Beach (June) styles we know that’s not true. The Nike LeBron 11 “Summit Lake Hornets”, which is slated for an official release this weekend, is beginning to hit select Nike retailers now. Take a closer look below and let us know if you plan to rock Hornets 11’s this Spring.Read the rest of this entry »
There are at least three new LeBron 11 styles coming out in the upcoming weeks. At least that’s what has been already confirmed by Nike or other retail stores selling their merchandise. Next weekend brings us the special one… the All-Star Game exclusive… followed by the Prohibition colorway a week later, on February 22nd. Now we finally have a confirmed release date for what may be the last regular Nike LeBron XI… the Summit Lake Hornets. It is scheduled to be released on March 8th. All the current Nike LeBron release information is available here. Check out a couple of new looks at the Hornets pair including the 3M reflective pattern, which lights up the honeycomb and the Swoosh. Shout out to our reader Jamison for the heads up!Read the rest of this entry »
We still don’t have a concrete release date for the Summit Lake Hornets colorway of the Nike LeBron XI, but the new set of pics should keep you busy until the date arrives. My guess is that they will drop in / close to March based on the previous models. The presented Court Purple/Reflective Silver-Vivid Blue make up brings back the popular Hornets theme just in time for the reactivation of the Charlotte Hornets. That’s very good planning on Nike’s part.Read the rest of this entry »
