Nike LeBron 9 “Freegums” Shot in Natural Surroundings »

The Miami HEAT… or more like Miami Floridians played their first game last night wearing a special throwback uniform tonight honoring the 1971-72 Miami Floridians of the ABA. Click here to see the game pics. Instead of a new make up, LeBron James sported the Freegums version of the Nike LeBron 9. For this occasion let’s take a detailed look at this special colorway surrounded with some special Freegums graphics. Is it me or are they really getting nicer to look at with time?

Release Reminder: Nike LeBron 9 “Freegums” Drops Tomorrow »

Happy Birthday LeBron James! To commemorate his birthday, which is today, Nike is releasing the LeBron 9 Freegums on December 31st, 2011. The graphic art imagery, seen on the inner lining and toe box, was designed by Miami artist Alvaro Ilizarbe, also known as Freegums. Nike released 50 pairs in special boxes earlier this month to celebrate the artist, and now everyone can join in on the celebration. This is the 11th colorway for the Nike LeBron 9, which concludes 2011, but there are still many amazing styles slated for next year. The LeBron 9 Freegums will be available at all House of Hoops (including Europe) locations and most Foot Locker stores, and of course nikestore.com. The MSRP is $170 and they come in Men’s and Kids’ sizes. The retail version features LeBron’s white signature drawer box with Freegums’ special tissue paper. LeBron James Debuts Christmas and Freegums in First Two Games »

In first two games of the 2011-12 NBA Season, the Miami Heat got impressive wins against the current champs – the Dallas Mavericks – and their Eastern Conference rival – the Boston Celtics. LeBron James returned with an improved post game. It was nice to watch LBJ displaying his new arsenal of moves. He was also the the catalyst on offense in both games. Just as expected King James debuted his special Christmas Day shoes on December 25th followed by the Freegums appearance in Miami’s home opener last night. Upcoming Nike LeBron 9 “Freegums” Arriving at Retailers »

LeBron James continues to show love to the Miami community via this special make up of the Nike LeBron 9. This time it’s a collaboration with local artist Alvaro “Freegums” Ilizarbe. Using a simple black and white palette, Freegums’ signature print style can be seen on the inner lining of the shoe and on on the toebox in a tonal white-on-white treatment. His custom pattern was also used to create a limited edition box. The Nike LeBron 9 x Freegums will drop in limited numbers on December 31st, but they’re already arriving at retailers so keep your eyes peeled.

Nike x LeBron James x Freegums: LEBRON 9 Event Recap »

This weekend, Miami’s Shoe Gallery hosted a special meet-and-greet event with local artist Freegums, who was recently given an opportunity to apply his signature artistic style to the Nike LeBron 9. Freegums (Alvaro Ilizarbe) incorporated several prominent Miami staples into the pattern, as well as several notable LeBron cues. The pattern appears along the inner lining, as well as the outer white parts of the shoe in a tonal variation. Following a limited release at last night’s event, the Freegums x LeBron 9 will be made available in a wider capacity on December 31st, 2011. Nike LeBron 9 “Freegums” Official Release Date – Dec 31st »

There are at least three different Nike LeBron 9 shoes coming out in December. In two days, on December 2nd, 2011 the Cannon colorway will make its official premiere in Europe and in the U.S. Traditionally, Christmas Day marks the launch of LeBron James’ special Xmas shoes. Finally, on December 31st, 2011 the Freegums version will release to public. It’s a special make up designed by Alvaro “Freegums” Ilizarbe – a Miami based artist known for his trademark black and white designs and pieces. See more gallery pics after the break.

Detailed Look at Nike LeBron 9 X Freegums »

What was previously believed to be inspired by a popular movie about a crime lord from South Beach is actually a collaboration between Nike and Miami-based artist known as “Freegums“. This special Black & White colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 is highlighted with subtle red details and a graphic lining, which is where the artist part comes into play. There seems to be an additional pattern located on the toebox, but it was much more apparent on the previous set of photos. The Freegums LBJ9 is expected to release around Christmas, but don’t worry the actual Christmas shoe is different.
