Wearing Brons: Nick Young Brings it Back – Zoom LeBron II COF PE »

To this day many consider the Nike Zoom LeBron II the best LeBron James signature shoe. The stacked full-length Zoom Air units were a huge success comfortwise and the laser-graphic details on the ballistic mesh and leather upper looked sick. The sneaker was also the introduction to Bron’s now signature lionhead logo. Ken Link’s design also featured removable straps, which gave the former gridiron star’s shoes a football feel. Nick Young of the Los Angeles Clippers wore a very rare pair in the last night’s game. He sported the “Chamber of Fear” Player Exclusive version. This certainly brings me back to the good old days. The only downside when I look back to the II’s… only 4 colorways were released to public. Kind of crazy comparing to the standard 20+ these days.

Unvaulted: Unseen Nike LeBron II Goodwin Sports Management PEs »

Until yesterday I used to think there are two GSM LeBron II PEsDunkman and Brown special make ups. How foolish of me! The GSM stands for Goodwin Sports Management LeBron’s first management agency that got him his first deal with Nike, for example. Turns out there are much more. Below, you’ll find four new, previously unseen colorways of the Nike Zoom LeBron II including one low-top and three Mids. All of them are equipped with GSM logo on the back of the shoe. The list includes regular colorways as well as the Triple Double PE. Makes you wonder just how many GSM PE’s are actually out there, doesn’t it? Photos courtesy of SpurSniperSeven and gettinit247.

Throwback Thursday: Zoom LeBron II Dunkman PE “Two Hands” »

The Dunkman II’s have been profiled numerous times, but with not much going on right now let’s take a journey back and take a closer look at one of the versions. It’s the “Grey Two Hander“, which means it’s rarer than the usual “One Hander“, but still the most sought item from the pack is the Neon Dunkman. If you remember the amazing story, posted by SUPRATURBO, describing how he scored a pair of Dunkman LeBron II’s for less than $30, it’s the same pair, but on better photos. Btw, there’s one pair of the Zoom LeBron II Dunkman PE currently on ebay, but seems like the demand for them is still huge as the price is already ridiculous. Continue reading for more pics. Click here for a complete profile of the Dunkman series.

Nike Zoom LeBron II – Marshall Faulk #28 – Player Exclusive »

I must admit that when I got these pics from my friend Andy I was like… oh great… more close ups of LeBron James‘ White & Navy Zoom LeBron II PE with #23 embossed on the back of the shoe. It was right after midnight and that’s always a good excuse, but how wrong was I?! Things cleared up the next morning when I took a closer look at these not so common anymore kicks. As they say the looks can be deceiving. Now as I know what’s the deal we can all share this story. Still don’t know why they’re special? Does the name of Marshall Faulk ring a bell? He is a former American football running back who played in the NFL. His jersey number – 28 – is currently retired for the St. Louis Rams and you can also see it on this rare ZLII Player Exclusive. Although we don’t know what’s exactly his connection to LeBron and/or Nike it’s nice to be surprised every once in a while. I mean it’s been 6 years since the shoes were made and we’re seeing them now for the very first time. WOW!

LeBron II Low Dunkman GSM PE – Goodwin Sports Management »

We might as well call it the Dunkman week here on NLB.net. Two days ago we started things with a rare version of the Zoom LeBron III Low. Yesterday we took a quick peek into the future by profiling the upcoming low-top version of the Air Max LeBron VII. Of course, the Dunkman style. Those who had paid attention might have caught a glimpse of the Zoom LeBron II Low Dunkman GSM PE, but not everyone is familiar with the story behind those. Let’s take a closer look at those Dunkman ZL2 Lows… one of the rarest Nike LeBron shoes out there. I know some of you have a problem calling it a Dunkman when there’s no logo around, but let’s put that aside for a moment. GSM stands for Goodwin Sports Management and LeBron’s first agent – Aaron Goodwin. There also exists a predominantly Brown pair… you can see them both here. With these new pics from Visrael we are very close to launch the theme page for the Dunkman collection. Please check back with us this weekend.

Nike Zoom LeBron II SVSM Away PE Sample – Rare Alternate »

Saint Vincent Saint Mary is the only theme that has been present since day one with Nike, LeBron James and his shoes. And it keeps on going strong. We like numbers here at NLB and by a quick count there are: 1(azg) + 2(zl2) + 3(zl3) + 2(zl4) + 2(zl5) + 2(zl6) + 2(aml7) + 2(zs1) + 2(zs2) + 2(zs3) = 20 SVSM kicks. That’s a lot. And those are only the official ones with the real SVSM or Irish logos… which means no BDay 5′s, no MTAG 7′s nor any of LBJ’s previous Nikes and Adidas shoes. Actually, let’s make that 21. Courtesy of gettinit247 we’ve received photos presenting ultra rare Zoom LeBron II samples from the first stage of development for the SVSM Away version. Click here to see the other two – regular Home & Away ZLII PEs. Notice how most things that are different on this sample are actually just details from the ZLII home colorway… the black Irish man, gold accents on the sole, gold crown on the L23 insignia, etc. Additionally, the new Sample has Gold accents on the ankle straps, which were previously White. Continue reading for more photos. It’s probably the only pair to surface the Internet. Wanna know how the SVSM legacy has started? Read this interview with LeBron’s teamates Romeo, Sian, Dru & Willie.

Nike Zoom LeBron II – Birthday Exclusive – LeBron James’ Pair »

The Birthday Exclusive Zoom LeBron II is probably not the most special pair of kicks, but there’s something worth mentioning about the pair you see below. In general it’s hard to get excited about an all black pair of shoes, even if it’s a part of the LeBron James Collection, but Nike released only 3 GRs, which makes the Bday II’s 1 of 4 colorways available to public. I’m pretty sure if fans were to point one LBJ shoe to be retro’ed in the nearest future, the ZLII would take like 80% of votes… especially considering their on-court value. I would like that to happen as well… very much! There were TONS of great colorways, but unfortunately for us most of them were Player Exclusives. Speaking of PEs, a pair of LeBron’s ZLII Birthday Edition has popped up on ebay. According to the seller it’s the only pair he received from Nike with special engravings including “Happy 20th Bron” and “Long live the king 12-30-84” lasering on the sides. The price is outrageous, however, those 1 of 1 shoes usually don’t get to reach the blogs.

Throwback Thursday: The G.O.A.T. – Zoom LeBron II Neon Dunkman »

As we are witnessing the seventh shoe in the LeBron James signature line, the throwback part of his collection is getting bigger and bigger. Some of the fans, who lost their interest after the V and the VI seem to think the LeBrons are back on track with the VII (see the poll on the left). The way I see it… it’s all about variety. Personally, I loved The Six and The Five. They were awesome basketball shoes, but I also understand those hardcore collectors, who weren’t so thrilled. The ZLV is still, in my humble opinion, one of the best all-around shoes of the 21st century. The Six performs well, but the most interesting thing is its casual appeal and plenty of nice colorways released (The LeBrons, Big Apple, Taxi, etc.). The VII is a whole different story introducing the new 360 Max Air unit and Flywire. Of course the most ground breaking LBJ kicks were the IV’s… there’s no doubt about that. Re-introducing the Foamposite in the way they did is something nobody can ignore. Going further back we get to the III and the II. The Zoom LeBron II is believed to be the GOAT in the LeBron James collection. The only bad thing about it is the number of colorways released to public. Even if you include the limited Birthday exclusive the total number is four. Imagine what it would be like to have the II’s treated like the VI’s. Imagine what it would be like if Nike released the shoe you see below to public. It would cause a riot.
