When Nike introduced the Post Season series two years ago, they released 4 colorways of the LeBron VII P.S. Last year they also started with 4 GR styles for the LeBron 8 P.S., which ended up at 5 after the Finals quickstrike. This year, we’ve already seen Home and Away version of the LeBron 9 P.S. Elite and still await Taxi and Miami Vice colorways. That’s four once again. Of course LeBron James usually wears his Miami Heat inspired PEs, but there are more shoes that usually don’t see the light of the day. Here’s a look at an early stage sample that won’t be releasing. With an olive base, black accents and contrasting Pro Combat full sleeve, you’ll notice quite a few differences from the final version. The Swoosh has a different faded application. The outsole has a different traction pattern. The carbon fiber midfoot shank actually extends all the way into the forefoot. There’s also different badging, like the “LeBron 9 P.S.” strip along the medial side, and the since-changed “Flywire+Kevlar” wording along the heel. See more photos after the break and check out Sole Collector’s interview with Jason Petrie and Leo Chang for more behind the scenes on this year’s Elite Series.
