The LeBron James Skills Academy features the top 80 high school players in the country, hosted by “King” James – one of the greatest players in the NBA. The 20 high school players who attended each of the previous four NIKE Skills Academies will be invited to Akron to improve their game and play against the top competition in the United States. The top 30 players from the LeBron Academy will then be invited to the NIKE Global Challenge in Beaverton, OR to play against some of the elite international talent from around the world. The even is held at University of Akron, James A. Rhodes Arena, Akron, Ohio (July 5-7, 2010). The buzz around the LeBron James Skills Academy is much different than last year as the basketball world awaits the final decision of the biggest free agent in the history of sports. As a result, there was a large media contingent at the camp that probably had more interest in what LeBron was wearing than scouting any college or high school players. With the LeBron VII P.S. taking the center stage during this year’s Playoffs, the Zoom Soldier IV received much less attention than usual. LeBron’s fourth installment of the Soldier line is about to make its debut in the U.S. (already released in Europe and Asia). King James wore the launch colorway during Day 1 of the 2010 LJSA.
