Until LeBron James came to Cleveland the city was completly unknown for sneakerheads. However, after the Cavaliers drafted the teenage phenom back in 2003 and Nike signed him for a seven-year-90-million-dollars deal Cleveland’s sneaker scene has never been the same, neither has basketball. Although the city is still shadowed by other cities f.e. New York City – world’s sneakers capital – there are few who are trying to change that. With LeBron James playing in the neighborhood it’s not that difficult. This Saturday from 12 to 4PM, the “Cleveland’s Got Sole” event will take place at the Holiday Inn in Independence, Ohio. All proceeds from the event will be donated to a local Finish Line Youth Foundation. Expect to see many cool LeBron kicks, but there will be many others as well, including Braylon Edwards and Josh Cribbs game worn and autographed cleats. Check out the fliers below for more details.

Soon LeBron James will introduce his sixth Zoom LeBron shoe and if we include the summer/playoffs line it will be his tenth(!) Nike sneaker overall. The Air Zoom Generation – LeBron’s first signature shoe – was a good way to start things off. The limited 1st Game, Wheat and Gold Rookie Challenge edition, unreleased All-Star “LA”, White and Silver “Rookie of the Year” – all those kicks are a part of history now. Back in 2006 Nike was rumored to release a retro colorway of Bron’s first sneakers, but as you might know that didn’t happen. However, bunch of samples were made and there’s one special colorway that we wanna show you today – the White/Camo/Gold edition.

Last night, LeBron James reached the 10,000-point milestone at 23 years and 59 days, more than a year younger than Kobe Bryant was when he hit the milestone in 2003 (24 years, 193 days). It took James 368 games to do it – the ninth-fastest in league history. LeBron managed to return from a sprained right ankle he suffered in the second quarter and racked up a game-high 26 points. Although LeBron James hit a milestone it was the Boston Celtics, who were victiorius in a showdown of Eastern Conference top teams. Also, check out this interesting article about LBJ’s milestone.

Yesterday we introduced the first real sketch presenting LeBron’s sixth signature sneaker. It’s hard to say anything about it basing on a single rendering, but one thing is certain… the Nike Zoom LeBron VI has a lot of potential. Today’s three new colorways, although they are still only renderings and there are some details missing, prove that the VI’s are something to get excited about. The colorway options are limitless. More pics after the jump.

So far we have no information about the design or the material, however, this photo gives an idea how will the Nike Zoom LeBron VI look like. Props to the guys at bbs.hoopchina.com for leaking this image. Get at us in the comment box to tell us what you think about the ZLVI.

We already showed you LeBron’s Player Exclusive of the Nike Zoom Soldier Olympic Edition here and here, so it’s only fair to showcase the General Release version too. It took a while to get some good pics of these sneakers, fortunately browsing through ebay from time to time has some positive output. Nike Zoom Soldier – King James’ last year Playoffs shoes as well as USA Basketball team shoes features dual lockdown straps and Zoom Air in the heel and forefoot that delivers responsive cushioning fit for the King.

The trade winds were blowing at hurricane force as several deals were consummated before last Thursday’s deadline. The largest of which involved the Bulls, Cavaliers and Sonics who combined on an 11-player deal. The Cavs sent Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons and a 2009 second-round draft pick to the Bulls, and Donyell Marshall to the Sonics. The Bulls dealt Ben Wallace and Joe Smith to Cleveland, and Adrian Griffin to the Sonics, while Seattle shipped Wally Szczerbiak and Delonte West to Cleveland. The new-look Cavs played their first game yesterday. Although the test wasn’t tough since the opponent – Memphis is at the bottom of the Western Conference with a 0.250 winning percentage, it showed that the new men fit well in team’s rotation and style of play.

Fans in the communities are trying to decide which Nike LeBron sneakers are the rarest. It’s a difficult debate especially when we mortals are not able to see many different designers 1-of-1 products. Below you can see another rare Nike LeBron shoe that one might throw into the discussion. It’s a Nike Air Force 1 PE personalized for LeBron James for the “Saturday Night Live” show. Last year LeBron hosted one of the SNL episodes… who knows me might see him in that role again.
