2007 NBA Playoffs photo recap: ECF | game 6 »
Entering Game 6 Detroit was determined not to allow LeBron James to score at will like he did in his historic performance in Cleveland’s double-overtime Game 5 victory. On the other side, the Cleveland Cavaliers wanted to close-out the Pistons in six games to avoid a possible Game 7 drama. At the end of the third quarter the Cavs led by one point and everything was just like in all previous five games – it was on its way to become yet another heart-breaking thriller. However, this time it was a rookie out of Texas – Daniel Gibson that punished the Pistons with his outstanding 3-point shooting in clutch moments scoring 19 points in the 4th quarter. Behind Gibson’s lights-out shooting the Cavs built up a 16-point lead and never looked back booking themselves a place in the 2007 NBA Finals for the first time ever!

This is like a dream. This is probably the best feeling that I’ve ever had in my life.
First of all, man, I’d like to thank every single one of the 20,000 fans. This is special. This is so special, man! This is the best thing that ever happened to me, but listen here: It doesn’t stop.
Something had to go right for Cleveland sports.
Gibson’s comments on the game:
If I’m dreaming, please don’t wake me up. This was perfect, to win it for Cleveland.
