King James Records 2nd Ever Allstar Triple Double. Just Like MJ! West Wins. Kobe Gets MVP Honors.

LeBron James became the second player to tally a triple-double in an All-Star game, following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan! He finished with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Kobe Bryant led the West to a win and brought showtime back to the All-Star Game, scoring 37 points and tying a record with his fourth MVP award. We haven’t had a Kobe vs. LeBron battle in June yet, but we got a preview of what it might look like here in February. The wild 148-143 score in the 2011 All-Star Game at Staples Center – the highest scoring regulation game in history – provided a taste of how exciting such a showdown might be as each dominated long stretches of the game. • My man got dunked on by kobe but he still got a triple double and almost led the east squad to a comeback! Nice game and Lebron should have been MVP if the East won! Great site and Great updates(kazcala)!

 • Yeah! I'm on you Roadkill. James almost had it, too bad it's a bit second late. I assume Kobe must have felt what James is capable of in competing against any opponent.

 • I don't think kobe dunked on him he was behind kobe trying to block the shot...but he shoulda win it because of the triple double nobody else gonna do that...THE KING

 • The only thing I gotta say is since when is being behind a guy almost blocking his dunk being dunked on

 • It was all LA show since day 1, i know Kobe is gonna take this game and gonna be aggressive for his hometown... That's why LeBron was passionate to win this game, bad thing is, other east players play like it was nothing at all during the first 3 qrtrs...until 4th qrtr when we saw LJ's leadership and managed to hook his whole team up to get serious... but it was too late... West is leading in the start of 4th qrtr if it was on a tie game? I think they would've win it...

 •
I think he should have won the mvp even though they lost...
I'm with you he shoulda won it anyway. But it was set up for kobe to win it cause of LA. Same thing with the dunk contest..they have it to blake like these months ago how ironic is it that they both win come on

 • I feel bad for Bron. Only him and Michael Jordan have had triple doubles in the ASG and Bron didn't get MVP! I don't think a player should have to be on the winning team to get the MVP.
