The Nike LeBron X was the first signature shoe for LeBron James to put him head and shoulders ahead in terms of sneaker sales. In 2012 LeBron sales reached a whooping $300 million while other lines reached $50 million for Kobe Bryant, $35 million for Kevin Durant, $25 million for Derrick Rose. Back in December we mentioned how this season it’s 35% better in revenue and 18% better in units sold… despite the fact LBJ is avoiding his own shoes. The complete 2013 sneaker sales number are finally available. Things do seem to be slowing down a bit… LeBron James still leads the pack, but the numbers for the Nike LeBron line are exactly the same… $300 million. Sales for Durant’s Nike signature sneakers jumped 400% last year from $35 million to $175 million in the U.S. The rest is pretty much the same… Kobe’s still at $50 million. I expect Durant to pass LeBron soon in the sneaker sales competition. Not because his shoes are better but his shoes are more versatile. LeBron's have always been pure basketball shoes, no fluff (other than the sixes, which were great casuals as well). KD's being lows and more casual looking bode well for his sales numbers.
