Back in the day, following into the Michael Jordan’s footsteps, Nike would start the year by releasing a simple Black and Red, aka Bred, version of LeBron James’ signature kicks. Based on the last four years, the trend is long gone. Nowadays we get energy releases in the first place like Crown Jewel 10’s, King’s Price 11’s, Heart of a Lion 12’s and Written in the Stars 13’s. Usually the Breds come out a little later, but in the case of the LEBRON XII… we didn’t get anything like that, really.
Same goes for LeBron’s on court kicks selection. In his first two seasons he wore a total of fourteen different colorways of the Air Zoom Generation and Zoom LeBron II combined. That’s an average of seven colorways per season. In 2014-15 he wore a total of 40 different colorways of his twelfth signature shoe!
This year Bron is up to a good start, sneakers-wise, with 14 different pairs in 20 games. Last night, he finally broke out a simple Black and Red colorway. Last night, he finally unveiled a Bred version of the LEBRON XIII. It’s a simple design reminiscent of Breds of old… something that I would really like to see hit the stores. Come to think about it… most of his Portland PEs are like that, no?

These are very nice. Finally something with a classic OG look. I think I would leave the shank in Black, though. There's no need to make that part of the shoe pop out like that.
