Gallery: LeBron James’ Triple Double Carries Heat to NBA Title

The Miami Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-106 Thursday in Game 5 of the NBA Finals to capture the 2011-12 championship. LeBron James had a triple double with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds in a Finals-MVP winning performance. LeBron’s triple-double is the first in a Finals closeout game since Tim Duncan in 2003. Finally, the King has earned the crown. LeBron’s first bucket was a roaring dunk on a fast break and the last chapter of his redemption tour took off from there. James squashed the demons of NBA Finals’ past and destroyed the Thunder with every assisted 3-pointer and hanging finish. James’ all-around Game 5 reminded everyone why he’s this generation’s most gifted player.   • I never lost faith in you Lebron, i got a little emotional thinking back at this 9 year journey i felt like i was chasing the first ring with you the whole time. Thank you Lebron for these memories and the championship. It's not over though there is more rings to win but for now you are the "KING". ALL HAIL THE KING!!!

  • yes, many have been waiting for this, I also. LeBron inspires young people. shows that the success achieved by hard work. Unfortunately some people just watch, I think. sometimes difficult to separate the admiration of the motivation for development. Passive entertainment is tempting, so I wish you and meself for more of positive energy. Congratulations to LeBron and Miami.
