In the latest edition of Sole Collectors’s ‘What Did You Ball In Today’ Nick DePaula, who is known by his hatred towards straps of any kind, made an alteration to the Nike Zoom Soldier III. The shoes are insanely light so it doesn’t have any effect in that department, but some people prefer an easier access to the lacing system. Anyway just like in our first impression post the ZSIII received positive notes. The author points out that in times when most of Nike lightweight products (f.e. Zoom Kobe IV, Hyperdunk, and Hyperize) offer Lunar Foam, the new Soldiers come in with a $110 Zoom/Zoom configuration. It comes in handy when you’re playing basketball past the two hour mark and when your game is based on that quick first step moves. Do you like the new look? Do you consider cutting the straps off your pair?

1 2 Next »I actually put too much power in my step, to be able to miss the straps(lol, I could use some straps on the HD's, or Kobe IV's), but I was really surprised, I thought I'd really like the look without, but I actually like 'em better with the straps.
the straps r wat keep it from lookin like a nike clown bball shoe.the straps r a must have.n plus im way to big of a sneakerhead to cut ne thing of my shoes.
there are no pics of the inside of the shoe where it would show the velcro and what is left of the strap.
btw, needs to be called "what i got schooled in" not what i balled in.
the only Bron shoe i own id consider taking a knife to are my IVs...clunky, heavy and impossible to get at the laces inside...greg you seen those pics?
i think these look good with or without straps. nice overall shoe from a looks standpoint.
They are ugly as hell without the straps... Too much of an empty space on the shoe. Maybe if the nike sign were moved to where the straps were but They look nice as hell with the straps to me.
Without straps they look like some Wades.
I hate the straps on these. I can't even wear em because my feet are to wide to strap the straps. The straps tear the laces apart. I would cut off my straps to if the LBJ23 logo were anywhere else on the shoes. I guess i'll just never be able to wear mine.

Yea man, thats why I bought a size bigger for the ZSIII. I do prefer the straps though :cool:
