Nike has developed a habit of putting nicknames on the more important pairs of the Nike LeBron XII. It is located on the heel pull-tab on the back of the shoe. It solves the ongoing problem of assigning names to colorways. In the past hypebeasts used that to promote select colorways as more special than in reality. Nowadays, there’s no need to do that because most of the Nike LeBron releases are fairly easy to get. The recently revealed Deep Royal Blue edition of the LeBron 12 is labeled as “What If?”, which could be a reference to an alternative football career for King James had he decided to join his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Nike’s official catalog images await you after the break.

Cowboys uniforms are navy blue. If Nike was truly trying to make a Cowboys colored shoe, why not use their actual blue?
