2013 Nike LeBron X Yellow Diamond “Canary” – New Photos

This grey LeBron X has a little tiny canary sitting atop a diamond on it. So, the shoe’s nickname is “Yellow Diamond“. Here’s both facets of the story. First, this X is about yellow diamonds, or “Canary” diamonds since the terms are interchangeable. But not so much about the diamond itself as it is about the rollers in Miami who wear them. It’s a play on the see-and-be-seen South Beach crowd who make diamonds a fashion priority on the regular. Yellow diamonds are comfortably on the common side of the diamond rarity scale. That doesn’t make them cheap – a 1.16 carat Fancy yellow diamond can price out at around $5600. The second facet of the inspiration is couched in the idea that LeBron is a pioneer-level player, someone whose futuristic talent is a sign that more players like him are on the horizon. That he’s already been where many others are trying to go, like a canary venturing into a coal mine ahead of everyone. The Canary LeBron X is set to release on February 9th, 2013 as the standard $180 version.
