Ohio State in Disguise – Secret Meaning of Zoom LeBron VI Home Edition

The last time a White and Red based Nike LeBron sneaker released to public it was 2004. After that White/Crimson Air Zoom Generation, this colorway was reserved for either China exclusives, or LeBron’s PEs, or Ohio State personalized kicks. So when King James broke out the White/Red Zoom LeBron VI nobody expected they are gonna drop. But, they did. First in Europe… USA still has to wait a couple months for the premiere. However, there seems to be a secret meaning behind this so called “Home PE”. On the other side of the L23 logo there’s a suprise for those, who were curious enough to look around. Meet Brutus Buckeye. This small detail makes the White/Red/Silver Zoom LeBron VI an Ohio State colorway. While the colorway is obvious, the logo and the fact it’s a GR is not. Brutus Buckeye is the athletics mascot of The Ohio State University. Brutus is a student dressed in Buckeye colors with a headpiece resembling an Ohio Buckeye. Brutus has appeared since 1965, with periodic updates to design and wardrobe. As a member of the cheerleading team Brutus Buckeye travels to many athletic and non-athletic events around The Ohio State University and makes appearances around Columbus (via Wiki).
