Nike Zoom Soldier IV – Grey/Purple/White – Closer Look

The Nike Zoom Soldier IV (4) has arrived in Europe marking it as the first continent selling the latest LeBron James signature shoe. Two colorways have been released, however, it’s the Grey/Purple/White combination that is available on a wider scale. The ZSIV combines Zoom Air and Max Air cushioning systems, which is the first time for LeBron’s line. Last season Nike released their first 360 Air Max based basketball shoe. We know the next one – the VIII – will also use a similar tooling. Fortunately, we still got the VII P.S. which offers Zoom Air, exclusively. Seems like the Soldier IV is a peace offering featuring the best of both worlds. Hopefully, we will run some tests soon enough and let you know how it turned out. In the meantime… check out some new photos presenting the 407707-001 style.

  • The first Soldier 4 will release here in the U.S. on Aug 5th in the FIBA "Team USA" colorway" here is the info straight from NikeStore.com:

    08/05/10, Zoom Soldier IV WBF
    407707-101, White/Dark Obsidian-Sport Red
    $120

  • Ok... they remind me so much of the II that it's a good thing! has a similar profile to it and the mesh is always a winner in my book!

  • I'll probably cop the USA colorway but really I'm waiting for the Black/White/Red/Gold colorway.

  • I just noticed the these are the most expensive Soldiers to date. Thats sucks! I don't understand why Air Max always cost more when Zoom Air is the superior product!!! I would prefer Zoom Air cause its much more comfortable and it costs less.

  • At jr_lyon, that all depends on your physique of course, for most big guys Zoom is useless(because the bag bounces too slow when making aggressive cuts(which costs you time, and creates an annoying back-slap under-foot if you're really strong), and usually gets compressed just by standing on it, so it adds little to no cushioning for the bigger players), so for the 250lbs+ category, Air Max is definitely the superior cushioning.

On the Soldier IV's, the shoe's a little bland, but looks solid, the FlyWire strap however, is way too gimmicky.

  • jus got these!! awesome shoes!!! i think these are the most under-rated lebrons out there. they are realy good looking shoes in person!!! they remind me of the lebron 2s!!!
