The “Pride of Ohio” colorway of the Nike LeBron 15 will be probably remember for being the shoe that helped J.R. Smith get of out his shooting slump. Smith is having a rough go from deep this season, only shooting slightly over 30 percent overall on the year.
However over the last 3 games he’s averaging 16.6 points on 18-of-37 (48.6 percent) from the field and 12-of-24 (50 percent) from 3-point range. What was the difference? It had to be the shoes, according to LeBron James. Smith wore the LeBron 15 “Pride of Ohio” while he went on a tear against Milwaukee and followed up with good games in Houston and Dallas. “I told him it was the shoes. He finally decided to wear my shoes after a long conversation, he finally decided to wear them and had a breakout game,” James said jokingly to reporters.
Those who follow my website know that it’s not the first time J.R. Smith is wearing them 15s. He also wore them in the opener against the Celtics. Smith was seen in other generic Nikes, LeBron 14 Lows and some Kobe ADs in between.
James also wore this colorway once, but he’s too busy breaking out other PEs for him to use it more often.
The third Nike LeBron 15 is less than one week away from its anticipated drop on Saturday, November 18th. The new images show more details including the actual color of the midsole, which on some pics looked close to white, but in fact the Taupe Grey finish seems to be much darker.
