In a rather surprising turn of events Nike Basketball is about to skip the All-Star theme pack from their annual collections list. Not so long ago we had Christmas, BHM, All-Star, and Easter packs but this season there’s only one so far… the Black History Month.
This is also what Nike plans to equip their signature athletes with for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans next week. Apparently they will lace up BHM colorways instead of special All-Star themed shoes.
If it was only about the Nike LeBron collection it would be understandable with its late arrival. Probably the change up with the location for the All-Star Weekend didn’t help either. On top of that all basketball footwear sales took a hit last year. Maybe Nike is trying to adapt to the new reality where we don’t see basketball kicks on the streets like we used to anymore.
However, my personal view is this. The NBA All-Star Weekend it’s the biggest basketball show in the world. This year NBA will reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages. If you need to make a one special shoe a year it SHOULD BE the All-Stars. There’s no other way around it.
I really hope Nike is planning something special next week. If the BHM’s are really it… I will be disappointed to see the best traditional go away like this.
As for the shoes alone the Nike LeBron 14 BHM is an outstanding looking shoe… that’s for sure. Take a closer look below.

No Id news huh....
This looks like the elite one's that came out every final sesason. it make no sense what is doing nike this year :-(
I'm so disappointed. If there was one thing I was looking forward to from Nike, it was the All Star collection. Even if last year's pack was terrible, this year's could've been the one possible thing to generate some hype. First they skipped out on the Xmas collection and now this. Nike needs to get it together.
Lebron 14 coming soon to id got a dm from nike id twitter so they are coming just don't know when
After playing in these over the pass few days I can honestly say these are the best LeBrons since the 11's. The 12's were a big step back IMO and the 13's were just absolute GARBAGE. But these feel like they finally got the Hex Zoom right for not only a basketball shoe but for a LeBron shoe. And looks wise these are big step as well. Good job Petrie and the design team.
