High school is where every great player is built. The long nights in the gym and the hot days on the blacktop are all down payments on future glory. And high school is where LeBron introduced himself to the world. While his legacy at St. Vincent’s – St. Mary’s in Akron, OH – national high school player of the year as a junior, three-time Mr. Basketball may never be matched, his spirit and determination to be the complete player can be. Like LeBron’s alma mater, Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, CA shows a commitment to athletic excellence that has kept them at the top of LA’s high school basketball rankings. In 2007, the Lions won the Division 1A state title. This season, they went 27-6 and were invited to play in the Amare Stoudemire Invitational Classic in Florida. To honor LeBron’s journey from high school to the pros and Fairfax’s dynasty in LA, Nike has created the Zoom LeBron V in the black, yellow and red of the Lions. The sleek, black body has a patent-leather toe and is adorned with yellow cross-stitching and yellow square eyelets. A red cross-strap with Swoosh detailing covers the front of the shoe and a yellow “Fairfax” is stitched on the outer heel. Info and pics via inside.nikebasketball.com.
