LeBron James finally broke the 30,000-point barrier. He became the seventh player in NBA history to to hit 30k on Tuesday night in Cleveland’s 114-102 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. James, who finished with 28 points, became the youngest to ever reach the milestone (33 years, 24 days) surpassing Kobe Bryant (34 years, 104 days).
“Just a special moment,” James said. “I just started thinking about everything. My journey from being a kid who first picked up a basketball when I was 5 years old to first playing organized basketball when I was 9 all the way up to this point. I give a lot of thanks to a lot of people. This is a special moment. It’s something I never set out to do.”
There was no commemorative shoe for the occasion. The King used the LEBRON XV Burgundy PE, which he already wore on January 12th. Still, it’s a very popular style among fans and hopefully the upcoming LeBron Watch initiative will let us get a pair.
