In a private hangar at the one-runway Hawthorne Municipal Airport, on the same block of greater Los Angeles as the headquarters of the private space-exploration startup SpaceX, Nike held its annual Skills Academy this week. The sneaker giant custom-built a three-court basketball complex to host 60 of the nation’s top high school players and 21 of the top collegians, and a handful of NBA players including LeBron James.
For the occasion, James laced up a brand new version of the LeBron Soldier 10 in a limited Nike Basketball Academy colorway. He wore the Black make up, but a White based Home version was issued to other players of The Academy.
