This was a very busy weekend keeping up with LeBron James’ sneaker rotation. James racked up some serious numbers and won the MVP Award in the black floral Kith x Nike LeBron 15 from the “Long Live the King” collection. The Chapter 2 of the LLTK dropped on Friday/Saturday, but the shoes worn in-game were made exclusively for The King.
In another powerful message addressing matters not related to basketball LeBron wore a custom version of the Nike Air Force 1 with the phrase ‘More Than An Athlete’ printed on the side. James insists he will not just “shut up and dribble”.
During the practice on Saturday he debuted the Nike LeBron 15 Low, which we already mentioned in a separate post.
Back in 2004 Nike made a special All-Star Game colorway of the Nike Air Zoom Generation, but sadly King James was not selected to participate in the game. Nike cancelled the energy release and LeBron never got a chance to wear the All-Star AZG’s. Having this year’s festivities in Los Angeles was the perfect setting for making things right. Nike created the 2018 version of the All-Star AZG, but only for King James. He wore it for the Kith L.A. store opening.
Lastly, King James took it to Instagram to showcase a previously unseen Glow-in-the-Dark / Pony Hair edition of the Nike Air Zoom Generation. I don’t believe this will be Retro’ed, though. That’s just one of the perks of being the biggest sneakerhead in the world.
