Earlier today Nike released the fourth Retro version of the Air Zoom Generation – LeBron James’ first signature shoe. The AJ4204-001 Black/Varsity Crimson-White retailed at $175, but again the Quickstrike label has spoiled most of the fun. Fans in Europe didn’t get them, but hopefully they will release in a couple of weeks like the previous ones, which were also late.
The previous versions – White/Black/Red and First Game AZGs – are probably more popular and rightfully so. The White/Black/Red set the stage for King James’ signature dunk and the First ‘Home’ Game was so special for fans in Cleveland and also sneakerheads due to the limited production numbers.
However, the presented Black, White and Red has achieved something no other shoe in the Nike LeBron line is even close to. The King laced them up 37 times during the 2003-04 NBA Season and no other shoe is even close. Considering the fact that in recent years he’s using 50+ pairs, with no more that 5 wears per shoe, it’s safe to say that it will go down as the most popular LeBron James shoe ever!
