New Wizards forward Mike Miller recently wore LeBron James’ Nike Zoom Soldier III kicks to practice and was told (jokingly, we think) by teammate DeShawn Stevenson, “We don’t wear these around here.” James response? Whatever, dude. “We already have a war against them, he can’t wear that,” longtime James agitator DeShawn Stevenson told the Washington Post. But Miller had his reasons. “When you’re unathletic and white like me, you got to have the lightest shoe out there,” Miller told the newspaper. “They feel good on my feet.” James and Miller have been friends for years and James has been getting a laugh out of the quotes. “He’ll wear them,” James said. “He said for a white, unathletic guy he’s got to have the best shoes. And I agree with that.” “Mike is a good friend of mine,” said James. “He named his son after my best friend, Maverick (Carter). We have a good history.” James said Miller should lace up his sneakers, though. Bonus video “Blow the Whistle” by Jay-Z after the break.
