On Wednesday night, the Magic didn’t have an answer for LeBron James for four quarters and all but 0.7 seconds of the overtime period. But as James drove to the hoop with the clock running down and Orlando up by a point, Hedo Turkoglu and Keith Bogans combined to tie him up and force a jump ball with less than a second remaining. “I went into the lane and I got grabbed,” dead-panned James. “(Turkoglu) had some of the ball, but he had part of my arm as well. Once I feel a little bit of contact, I’m trying to go up and get the shot off and hopefully they’ll call a foul. It didn’t go our way, but we will regroup and get ready for Friday. James turned in his second triple-double of the season – and 12th of his career – netting a jaw-dropping 39-point, 14-assist, 13-rebound effort. LeBron was 15-for-27 from the floor and 7-for-9 from the stripe, including three straight tosses to tie the contest at the end of regulation. Even LeBron’s triple-doubles are not ordinary. The last player put up numbers equal to Wednesday night’s trifecta (39 points, 14 assists and 13 rebounds) was Wilt Chamberlain on March 18, 1968 – (53 points, 32 boards, 14 assists).
