Back in November, the LeBron James Family Foundation has teamed up with the Akron Chlldren’s Hospital to take part in the annual Holiday Tree Festival. The LJFF’s contribution was made up of LeBron’s signature Nike sneakers, including the 8 PS Elite, 9 PS Elite, 10, 10 PS Elite, Ambassador 5, Soldier 4 and Soldier 6… all dressed in classic Miami Heat colors. Now all of them, a set of 47 pairs, is up for grabs though a single auction on eBay. All pairs are very rare Nike Player Exclusives in size 16 fitted for King James. The BIN has been set at at $42 000, which means it’s nearly $900 a pair. Any takers?

The tradition of creating special Christmas colorways is quite young considering Nike’s ability to create personalized kicks. For the LeBron line it started along with the LEBRON VII. Nowadays the expansion is quite obvious and even the Soldier line was included last year. Unlike the LEBRON X, which ended up at retail as usual, the SOLDIER VI Christmas PE was created exclusively for NBA players and was showcased on NBA courts thanks to Kosta Koufus and Eric Bledsoe. Should we expect some special SOLDIER VII wears on Christmas Day? Take a closer look at the last year’s edition and stay tuned for updates.Read the rest of this entry »
It really seems like Nike Basketball is going to stick with the Soldier series for all their team shoe needs. We have yet to see any LeBron James’ sponsored school colorways (Fairfax, SVSM, Christ the King) for the LEBRON X. Either they don’t exist or Nike is doing a great job of keeping them under wraps. The latest team styles were based on the Nike Zoom Soldier VI. There were numerous variations produced as each school received at least 3 different colorways. The Saint Vincent Saint Mary edition, being the most special, had 5 styles produced. This is the fifth colorway… an alternate take on the Home colorway. None of them were made available for public access, though. Continue reading for the whole SVSM pack.Read the rest of this entry »
Back in January, Nike released a commemorative Black History Month collection that included three signature shoes – Kobe 8, KD 5, and LeBron 10. It did not include any other shoes at retail, however, some of Nike’s athletes wore personalized colorways of other popular basketball kicks, like the presented Nike Zoom Soldier VI, for instance. Fast forward a couple of months and turns out the Soldier 6 BHM is not a Player Exclusive after all. At least not only a PE. I’m not sure if there was an actual release (probably not), but some pairs have been recently spotted at Ross for much less than the $125 MSRP. So if you browse through eBay and come across multiple BHM’s you’ll know what’s going on. I wouldn’t mind if other Soldier PEs would suffer a similar fate.

Before the NBA Finals kicked off, I asked an important question on whether players should wear signature shoes of their opponents. Turns out it didn’t stop the San Antonio Spurs’ Manu Ginobili and Danny Green from lacing up the LeBron X and the Zoom Soldier VI, respectively. For the most part it worked really well… especially for Danny Green, who dominated from outside the paint in the first five games of the series setting up a new NBA Finals record for the most 3-pointers made. After the Heat won their second NBA championship, the team’s celebration party moved from American Airlines Arena to the Miami night club Story where LeBron James was caught giving a hug to the Spurs’ sharp-shooter. Both Green and James took to Twitter to clear the situation between former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates.Read the rest of this entry »
Having featured the previous three colorways of the Christ the King Soldier 6’s we continue the breakdown of this year’s LeBron James’ team shoe. This time it’s two new colorways of the Nike Zoom Soldier VI. Nike Basketball has equipped the students from Christ the King High School in Queens, NY with a second Home / Away set. Last week, we showcased the third Fairfax colorway of the Nike Zoom Soldier VI. It’s about time to conclude the series with the fourth style – the Away Alternate PE. This completes the overview of the new Fairfax Soldiers with two classic White and Black based Home and Away styles and two alternate models. The latest installment features a predominantly Red upper complemented with Black logos, Yellow outsole and inside lining. A big Fairfax logo highlights the midfoot strap. Yesterday, the Ohio State Buckeyes squeezed into their fourth straight Sweet 16 appearance with a 78-75 win over Iowa State at University of Dayton Arena. Since the Ohio State University is still a LeBron James sponsored school, many players wore Nike LeBron shoes including personalized LeBron X iD and Zoom Soldier VI colorways. Although their Player Exclusive version is slightly different from the one presented below, it gives us a great chance to check out one of the more interesting styles that were actually released to public. See detailed photos presenting the Soldier 6 OSU Camo edition below.Read the rest of this entry »
