Nike x LeBron James x Freegums: LEBRON 9 Event Recap »

This weekend, Miami’s Shoe Gallery hosted a special meet-and-greet event with local artist Freegums, who was recently given an opportunity to apply his signature artistic style to the Nike LeBron 9. Freegums (Alvaro Ilizarbe) incorporated several prominent Miami staples into the pattern, as well as several notable LeBron cues. The pattern appears along the inner lining, as well as the outer white parts of the shoe in a tonal variation. Following a limited release at last night’s event, the Freegums x LeBron 9 will be made available in a wider capacity on December 31st, 2011. The creator explained the theme behind the pattern was Miami x LeBron. See more pics after the break and watch the recap video by stickie213.

Nike LeBron 9 “Freegums” Official Release Date – Dec 31st »

There are at least three different Nike LeBron 9 shoes coming out in December. In two days, on December 2nd, 2011 the Cannon colorway will make its official premiere in Europe and in the U.S. Traditionally, Christmas Day marks the launch of LeBron James’ special Xmas shoes. Finally, on December 31st, 2011 the Freegums version will release to public. It’s a special make up designed by Alvaro “Freegums” Ilizarbe – a Miami based artist known for his trademark black and white designs and pieces. See more gallery pics after the break.

Detailed Look at Nike LeBron 9 X Freegums »

What was previously believed to be inspired by a popular movie about a crime lord from South Beach is actually a collaboration between Nike and Miami-based artist known as “Freegums“. This special Black & White colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 is highlighted with subtle red details and a graphic lining, which is where the artist part comes into play. There seems to be an additional pattern located on the toebox, but it was much more apparent on the previous set of photos. The Freegums LBJ9 is expected to release around Christmas, but don’t worry the actual Christmas shoe is different.

First Look: Nike LeBron 9 “Black & White” aka Scarface Freegums »

I was reluctant to call the Home 9′s like everyone else and seems like something better has come along, which is much more deserving of the Scarface nickname. Still, we will update you on the real inspiration once available, as always. A new batch of photos, actually it’s already two, presenting a new colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 has just surfaced the Internet. The new Black and White is definitely a back-to-basics colorway, which among neck-breakers like Chinas and Cannons is something quite refreshing. Release information is not available at the moment, it will most likely release to public, but it remains unknown in what fashion. What’s your take on this new LEBRON 9?
UPDATE: They’re not Scarface LeBrons after all. It’s a graphic art about King James and Miami designed by Alvaro Ilizarbe, aka Freegums, a local artist in Miami.

Nike LeBron 9 White/Black/Red “Miami Heat” Home »

The Scarface nickname for the Nike LeBron 9 in this “Miami Heat Home” colorway is catching on fast, but for some reason it’s hard for me to call them this way. Anyway, if the Heat get a change to play some NBA games soon, we might see LeBron James wearing this Home edition at the American Airlines Arena. However, fans will get a change to get them sooner than that, cause the White/Black/Red LBJ9 is slated for official premiere on November 4th, 2011. Among other unique styles, which come out around the same time, do you think these will get proper recognition? Also, do you prefer the GR version or the Sample (both pictured below)?
