LeBron James is still rolling with the Soldiers, but the Manu Ginobili of the San Antonio Spurs provided us with the Nike LeBron 11 sighting in Game One of the NBA Finals. Last night, he sported a Grey and Gold colorway, but turns out he has at least three different versions ready to go. All of them look pretty nice. Kind of makes me wish he would have exchanged his kicks with King James.
|From Nike LeBron X…|
Before the NBA Finals kicked off, I asked an important question on whether players should wear signature shoes of their opponents. Turns out it didn’t stop the San Antonio Spurs’ Manu Ginobili and Danny Green from lacing up the LeBron X and the Zoom Soldier VI, respectively. For the most part it worked really well… especially for Danny Green, who dominated from outside the paint in the first five games of the series setting up a new NBA Finals record for the most 3-pointers made. After the Heat won their second NBA championship, the team’s celebration party moved from American Airlines Arena to the Miami night club Story where LeBron James was caught giving a hug to the Spurs’ sharp-shooter. Both Green and James took to Twitter to clear the situation between former Cleveland Cavaliers teammates.Read the rest of this entry »
Usually it’s okay to wear signature shoes that belong to other NBA players in the regular season, but in the Playoffs things get serious. For that reason, we often see players switch to non-signature kicks when facing the enemy. Will Manu Ginobili, who really seems to enjoy LeBron James’ shoes, switch to something more generic for tonight’s game? Ever since he started wearing the LEBRON 9 (Freegums) last year, and followed with another pair – Argentina colorway on Nike iD – for the Olympic Games, he’s been fairly consistent with his selection of basketball kicks. Nowadays he’s into the LEBRON X and has already wore both Carbon and Prism (great match for the San Antonio Spurs!) colorways throughout the post season. Would you change shoes if you were playing against a signature athlete?Read the rest of this entry »
The first round of the 2013 NBA Playoffs hasn’t even ended yet, but we already have more than enough to go with. LeBron James in on a rampage of his own, but other NBA players have exercised the Nike iD pretty well… or stayed put with the GR styles. Joining J.R. Smith, Eric Bledsoe of the Los Angeles Clippers wore the LeBron X PS Elite in the Superhero colorway and also used a couple of Nike iD styles of the regular X’s. Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors has already used 3 different versions of the LeBron X iD. Spurs’ Manu Ginobili rocked Carbons and Cory Joseph went with Prisms. As for PEs, Ty Lawson wore the Zoom Soldier VI Nuggets PE (with straps cut off) and Chris Andersen got hooked up with a couple of Miami Heat PEs from King James’ personal stash. With one fourth of the 2012-13 NBA Season behind us, it’s time to take a look at what other NBA players wear Nike LeBron shoes these days. Ty Lawson of the Denver Nuggets is leading the pack with Cool Grey 9’s, Taxi 9 P.S’s and Blue Diamond X’s. Eric Bledsoe of the Los Angeles Clippers aka Mini LeBron has already wore Pressure, Bred, and Carbon X’s. Lou Williams of the Atlanta Hawks has designed for himself a nice predominantly red colorway of the LBJ X on Nike iD. Manu Ginobili and George Hill are still wearing Freegums 9’s. Check out the whole gallery after the break, which additionally includes Liverpool 9’s, the new Soldiers and more. Big shout out to you big dummy for the help compiling the list.Read the rest of this entry »
The U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team held on for an 86-80 exhibition victory over Argentina on Sunday. Manu Ginobili played a solid game and scored 23 points, but more interestingly he wore the Nike LeBron 9 iD in a special Argentina inspired colorway. Manu doesn’t wear LeBrons in the NBA, but seems like he designed a special make up for the Olympics. It’s a nice match.Read the rest of this entry »
