Michigan State and Kentucky met last night in the highly anticipated 2013 Champions Classic, and Nike Basketball has made sure that both teams were geared up and ready. We already saw the Wildcats debut their LeBron 11 PEs for the opening weekend, however, the MSU saved theirs for the main event. The Spartans got their LeBron XI’s styled in green with white Hyperposite and “Forging Iron” trim. Additionally, several players from the Duke Blue Devils squad also wore Nike LeBron shoes last night including a Blue LeBron XI “Forging Iron”, Black/Blue LeBron X PS and Blue, Black and White version of the Soldier VII. Check out the looks below.Read the rest of this entry »
The new NCAA season has officially started, which means the return of the Wearing Brons segment. We’re looking for Nike LeBron 11 sightings and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball squad is the first to rock the new LeBron sig. The University of Kentucky is no stranger to personalized Nike LeBron shoes. This time they went with a simple White and Blue colorway of the Nike LeBron XI. With the limited exposure on James’ feet it’s good to see the shoes in action!Read the rest of this entry »
It took a while for the Away Player Exclusive version of the Nike LeBron 9 to surface in full detail. Fortunately it did, therefore we were able to complete the University of Kentucky collection page. Apart from Wildcats’ Home and Away PEs, Nike Basketball actually released the Away colorway last season, but without the school’s logo. The PE version sports the UK logo on the top of the tongue. Continue reading for a detailed look and head over to the The Collection for a complete coverage on all Nike LeBron Kentucky shoes.Read the rest of this entry »
Last week, the Kentucky Wildcats won their eighth national championship. None of the UK players wore the Nike LeBron 9 in the University of Kentucky colorway, but it must be nice for the fans, who have an opportunity to get the latest LeBron James’ shoes inspired by the current NCAA champion. At the beginning of the season Nike Basketball released three LeBron 9 colorways as a part of the University Pack, which had included Ohio State University, University of Miami, and University of Kentucky. The Wildcats version features Black & Royal upper with White outsole and swoosh. Too bad the released model doesn’t feature the official UK Basketball logo like the one placed on the official Player Exclusive styles, which again weren’t featured in the championship game. During the NBA Lockout LeBron James got a chance to display a couple of shoes that he normally couldn’t wear with the Miami Heat uniforms. Back in November, while participating in the Rudy Gay charity game, he wore the LEBRON 9 Kentucky Home PE. It’s one of two Player Exclusive shoes personalized for Wildcats’ basketball players for this season. UK’s home shoes are what you’d expect from a White and Blue colorway on the LBJ9, but the difference here is of course the school’s logo on the top of the tongue. This version is not available in stores, though.Read the rest of this entry »
The whole Ohio State Buckeyes basketball team is wearing their latest LeBron shoes in pretty much every game, but Kentucky Wildcats are still mostly using other Nike shoes. It’s very hard to find any UK player in their personalized Nike LeBron 9s even though it’s the only school with both Home and Away versions ready to go. LeBron James already wore the LBJ9 UK Home PE in Rudy Gay’s charity game earlier this month. Anyway I did find some pics of Wildcats wearing UK 9s, but only a few. It sure is a nice match.
The Nike LeBron 9 “Kentucky” is now available for purchase at nikestore.com. You can also order the shoes on eastbay.com. For fans located in Miami visit Mr R Sports located on South Beach. Along with the new release comes a new “Shoe Science” video from Nike Basketball featuring LeBron James and Jason Petrie, and a cameo role by Coach Calipari. I’m sure you’ve already seen the UK’s from every conceivable angle, but be sure to check out these new pics and the video after the break.Read the rest of this entry »
Along with the excitement that accompanies the first official NCAA basketball event of the season comes the Kentucky Wildcat inspired NIKE LEBRON 9. You can order a pair of UK 9’s starting tomorrow at nikestore.com and other Nike retailers. Click here for an extensive look at the releasing version. Coach Calipari’s men will unveil their special edition shoes tomorrow night. These make ups are different from the GR model. Both Home and Away PEs feature the UK logo on the tongue instead of the LeBron signature. The Away pair is of course the same in every other way, which makes the Home much more exclusive… as in Player Exclusive. Photo via @CraigBowman413.
