The Miami Heat celebrated their third NBA title in a back-to-back fashion today during the championship parade through downtown Miami. LeBron James wore the “2-Time Champion” version of the Nike Air Max LeBron X Low along with matching socks and a matching hat. “It’s the ultimate,” James told Sun Sports, the Heat broadcast partner, as he rode along the route. “It’s the ultimate. This is what I came down here, to be able to have a parade at the end of the year. I’m extremely blessed, man. It doesn’t get any better than this. All the fans that we’re seeing here is who supported us throughout the whole season, man. This is the least we could do is ride through the city and show our appreciation.” Fans will be able to get a pair of his back-to-back championship kicks this summer as a part of the Championship Pack. Stay tuned for details on the availability.

Tomorrow is the official release for Nike’s Area 72 collection designed for the upcoming All-Star festivities. Bron Bron will of course be lacing the extraterrestrial version of the Nike LeBron X for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday in Houston. Accordingly, here we get a complete look at the LeBron X “All-Star.” The kicks feature a predominantly Purple upper (3M reflective), complemented with hits of Total Crimson and Strata grey. You’ll have your chance to snag a pair, beginning tomorrow. Retail is higher than usual, again, and instead of $180 we are asked to pay $200. Continue reading for a detailed look, which includes a matching t-shirt and Nike Elite socks.

The long awaited Black History Month collection launches tomorrow. The whole collection includes signature shoes for Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, as well as some Air Force 1′s, Women’s Dunk Sky High, jackets, tees, and even Nike Elite socks. Nike will donate proceeds from sales of the BHM Collection to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, so this somewhat justifies the higher price tag. However, in my mind Nike could do the same without forcing the customers to pay more. All in all, the new LeBron X style featuring the signature black, grey and orange BHM print drops tomorrow (8am EST) for $200.

Nike recognizes the importance of the Black History Month month with not only a product collection, but a larger recognition of the power of sports to impact society. The 2013 Nike Black History Month Collection mantra “Be Bold. Be True.” celebrates three athletes who are fearless in action and fueled by a purpose. Consisting of seven shoes, two T-shirts, a Destroyer jacket, Nike Elite socks and a 5-panel hat, the 2013 Nike BHM Collection will debut beginning January 26th. A consistent design aesthetic weaves through each product in the collection, with a color palette including black, grey and brown highlighted in orange. The color orange is particularly meaningful with its bold hue and tie to Nike’s DNA since its 1972 inception.

I must admit I still prefer LeBron James’ actual USA Basketball PE over the releasing version of the LeBron X, which comes with Gold logos, simply because he wore them in the Gold Medal game in London. However, seeing LBJ chilling in China wearing the advertised product… especially with those matching Nike Basketball Elite socks makes me wanna grab a pair. I’m only human. Still, I’m in the same boat as everybody else, I guess. It all depends on the availability and the price. If Nike somehow eliminates re-sellers, for example by making them broadly accessible, then consider these copped. What about you?Read the rest of this entry »
I was forced to match my LeBron Easter kicks with some Kobe Easter socks, cause Nike forgot to make those for LBJ. Fortunately I got a pretty sweet deal from rockemsocks.com. In general it’s difficult to get these limited Nike Basketball Elite socks for a decent price. It’s nice that Nike started making matching socks, but they really need to make them available online too, cause the re-sell prices are ridiculous. The “Easter” colorway was the first among all Nike LeBron 9 Low styles. Even after 8 different colorways released and at least two more coming it’s still my favorite one. It’s really something we haven’t seen before and the casual appeal is great too. Check out our trademark close up photos after the break.

Nike has just released the fifth colorway of the Nike Air LeBron Slide this time in Cool Grey and Volt. Initially two simple styles were released to public – White/Black and Black/Red – followed by the always popular South Beach theme. Then another clean looking version in Black and Grey and now something much more familiar to LeBronheads – Cool Grey and Volt. Nike has already planned to release a new version along with the LeBron X basketball shoes. Continue reading for a detailed look at all LeBron James signature flip flops. I must admit I’ve enjoyed my pair for quite some time. Very comfortable.Read the rest of this entry »
